Tara - I loved The Help! Hope you do too!
I forgot to ask you...how did you like the Lovecraft stories?
Ooh, have you read "Let The Right One In"? I haven't, but the movie was so quiet and intense. I loved it. So "People of the Book" is good? I loved her "March".
Find good stuff and then tell me about it!
BTW, you're my inspiration for reading more non-fiction!
Yes. "Perfect Storm" was amazing - he explained it all really well. May need to re-read that one. "Thunderstruck" sounds great! Just read a review. I love non-fiction writers that can pull disparate story lines all together.Speaking of non-fiction, of which I read too little, and murder, I read Dave Cullen's "Columbine" (actually listened to it). It was, of course, heartbreaking, but also fascinating. So many of the myths and misinformations of what happened and how were developing as the whole story was actually unfolding. It was sad, but a terrific read.
That's funny. I loved the World's Fair stuff even more than the murderer's story. I'm reading his (Larson's) "Isaac's Storm" about the 1900 Galveston hurricane. It's interesting, but without colorful diagrams and computer imagery, I'm never gonna learn how a hurricane starts. "Air goes up, air goes down. Water freezes, thaws, etc."

It was a book of short stories, not very much like "Lost Things". I enjoyed it - some stories more than others. Have you read "Devil in the White City"? History reader that you are, I think you'd love it.
