Well, I don't know whether you should read 'guns, germs and steel'. It all depends what you want to read. There isn't a story or anything like that to be found in this book. The focus of this book is trying to find an explanation for the inequality that exists today in the world. According to Jared Diamond the situation of today is all due to geografical factors and he brings a lot of evidence to support his claim. But, the critics say that his claim is too determinalistic to be true. And true, if you take his position there's very little chance that this inequality will ever be changed. But, as I said, he brings an awfull lot of evidence to support his claim and goes back to the dawn of civilization to point to the facts which caused a world with the great inequalities that we see today.
Yes, a "wise" man must read "guns, germs and steel"....A brilliant theory and write that you do not want to miss. Good luck!
given what i see on your shelf, i think you will enjoy guns germs and steel.
