I have loved reading ever since I was a child. My mom signed me up for the Book of the Month club when I was in elementary school, and I remember waiting anxiously for each month's new book. It was like getting a Christmas present each month! When I was a teen, I loved mystery/suspense/detective books. Once I read my first Danielle Steel novel, I was hooked on the romance ones, too.

Now, as an adult, my favorite type of book is one that tells the saga of a family, especially from generation to generation (my favorites are Cane River & The Red Tent). I love to see the evolution of a person or a family & find it personally inspiring. I also really enjoy books about other cultures & countries.

A friend of mine listed her favorite kids books on Shelfari as well, which I think is a great idea. So.........the kids books I have on my shelf are personal favorites - some are ones that I grew up reading & now read to my own kids. « less
