Through some diabolical glitch at Shelfari I ended up with TWO accounts and could only sign in to the newly created one. So I've had to transfer all of my books and, more or less, start from scratch. In the process I've also lost all of my "friends" and "followers". I've tried to get Shelfari to correct the situation to no avail. They keep referring me to Amazon and the Amazon "help" people claim never to have heard of Shelfari. Hope you'll continue to "follow" me at my new location. Gunter

Hello Michael. Just thought you'd like to know that, in addition to the paperback and hardcover versions, my book "Weeds Like Us" is now available on KINDLE at www.amazon.com. It's also available on SONY READER. Other e-versions are coming soon! “Weeds Like Us” is a memoir written from a child's point of view about the post-war occupation of East Prussia by the Russians. Best wishes, Gunter

    Hello Michael,
Hope this note finds you well. In regards to the note I sent awhile back about the Great Barrier Reef...Did you hear about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico? I am located here in southern California, so it is not too far from me. I added quite a few of your books as usual. Have you ever snorkeled or dived?...just wondering....

    Hello Michael,
How are you? Have you had Spring Break yet? I read today that there is a possibility that a Chinese ship will spill millions of gallons of oil into Australia's Great Barrier Reef...I hope the potential disaster is somehow averted. Coincidentally I just read my first book about Jacques Cousteau, the world renowned ocean explorer/diver. I've finally managed to finish reading and reviewing a few books. Truthfully, I'm not sure of the correct procedure to use in order to write an acceptable book review,so I just go about it in my own manner and hope to somehow muddle through. I hope to read a book review of yours..

    Hello Michael,
Intrigued? No need to be. I do love books and reading but I am not a savant of any kind.(lol) I seriously contemplated enrolling in a speed reading course for efficiency's sake. Although at times I may read a bit more than the average Joe, I'm quite sure my speed is nothing beyond ordinary, which is why the idea of speed reading occurred to me in the first place. I sometimes become quite frustrated with all there is to read and I am stuck here with just this one little noggin as a tool. Exasperated would actually be a better choice of words to describe my feelings. All this information coming in and yet it is never enough and at the same time too much and the assimilation is in a constant state of formulation...or maybe even sometimes a quandary. I hope you can still manage to be intrigued after this explanation. How do you feel about quandaries?

    Hello Again Michael,
At the beginning of our friendship you mentioned you were interested in reading about the feminization of violence...well if you look at what I am reading there is a book by the name of "The Lonely Soldier" you might like it. BTW I saw you added a book about the Art of Conversation..If you'd like you can try out some conversation tricks and tips with me....Glad to have contact with a fellow philomath.

    Hello Again Michael,
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year celebration. I'm happy you are adding books on your Shelfari, as I find many of your book choices compatible with my reading tastes . Although I'm not usually fond of shopping for most articles of necessity books are an exception to the rule. Shelfari is a bit like window shopping isn't it?

Hope you are Merry in Toowoomba! Try not to get Too Woomba or you might get wobbly and a Wobbly Woomba ....well you know how much trouble that can be....kind of like a Cat In The Hat. Enough of my nonsense..Maybe The Wobbly Woomba would be a good title for a children's book?

    Hello Michael,
I added your book Unconscious Civilization. I looked up the author John Ralstin Saul and he is the head of the International PEN....which is the oldest human rights organization in the world...according to Wikipedia. If this is true I find it very interesting.....will explore

Thank you for accepting my friends request. I have been having so much fun browsing/adding books and accepting/requesting friendships that I've stopped reading temporarily! Well back to basics...
