I am a High School Science teacher in Arkansas. I love acoustic guitars, a good cup of coffee, and once loved baseball but now I'm too old to play (snivel). I'm always reading reading reading! Why? Because I'll never have the chance to be an aging Apache squaw in 1850, a once-prosperous Jew in a Nazi concentration camp, or an African tribal... more »

    Your welcome, Phil.

First time I read TA I was unable to grasp the full meaning. Read it again for my foreign language in translation class and it clicked.

That is how it is with people too sometimes, you know.

Did not care for The Road. Perhaps some day I will take a second look . . ..

    Salutations on your good news.

Yes, July 11. It was a good one.

    Take care of you. k♥

Why no Graham Greene on your shelf? The End of the Affair was beautifully written...please do not judge the book by the movie's hideous portrayal of it!

    Read something!

Oh, forgot to tell you that Davis Kidd closed.

    Can you believe it?

Still too sad to talk about, but thought you would want to know.

As you may have seen before... a movie are nothing but a summary to a book. The book always has more details and explains situations, characters, and the all round plot better. The scene in which you saw on the movie is quite the same in the book, all the politeness is still there and the book explains the duel and also show how truly respectful both men are. I believe if you like the movie you will like the book better, of course I am a little partial considering it is my favorite book....lol!

It's not about him being an old man, but about your new picture looking like him in a way. Peace my dear kaibigan. :) How are you? Haven't heard from you in a while. I'm having troubles with my left wrist and because of that I haven't been playing.

Hi, Phil. I am listening to some of your guitar ballads today. They are a nice accompaniment to such a beautiful sunny Fall day. I hope you are still able to play often. Cheers.

I like your new picture! You look relaxed. You even look like a local celebrity here named Dante Rivero. :) Hope you're doing great!

I'm actually fine. It's just that my old picture has been there for a while and i thought why not change it to something more dramatic. Haha! Thanks for checking on me. I'll send you an email soon.

    Hi,
I looked a little closer at the book "A Case for the Real Jesus" and it sounds like a very interesting book. I'm typing this during my first study hall, first day of school. It's been going well so far. I'm glad to hear about Sydney, Australia. For a long time I very much disliked my name actually, but Sydney Australia is a very neat place and I'm glad to share its name. Plus, it's always fun to hear my name so much in "Finding Nemo". :)

Thanks for the input! I'll give it a shot. The erotic scenes don't bother me if they're real. I hate rosy-colored, dreamy-edged,
saccharine scenes where nobody does or says anything even remotely believable. Any other suggestions?
