Cool. I'm loving "Freaky Deaky" so far - starts of with a bang! (Literally). Glad to hear the endorsement for "Get Shorty" - I bought it at the same time as "Freaky Deaky" so it's already on the stack! Only other Leonard I've read is "Swag" - great stuff!

How's "Tree of Smoke" so far? I've got it, but am a bit daunted by it's 700+ page count.

    By the way, AWESOME CAPE!

I'll check out the Drude's Soft Machine tome. Great band. Robert Wyatt - a personal hero.

I should have said, if I had to pick one for a beginner, it would be The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian. Its like the beginners bible and it used to get my beads clacking.

For the beginner and not so beginner:
Charlie Papazian - The Complete Joy of Homebrewing (http://books.google.com/books?id=-X8XHQAACAAJ&dq=Charlie+Papazian&source=an&hl=en&ei=diOxSsLpFMKL8Qbu8sGKDw&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=9)

For the chemist/scientist in you yearning to know what is really going on:
Ray Daniels - Designing Great Beers (http://books.google.com/books?id=U8EMAAAACAAJ&dq=Ray+Daniels+designing+great+beers)

Those ought to keep you busy, and if you want, you could come to Richmond on a brew day and drink a couple with me while also helping with the brewing.

St. Jaques, I've not read any brewing books in a very long time. If, in fact, you are interested, I can point you towards some.

I hope you're more of a True Blood vamp than a Twilight vamp. True Blood is way more metal.
