Read the review for The Book of the Hopi
I liked Pop. A couple of my boys who read all 30 DCF books last year chose Pop as their favorite. As for The Danger Box, I found it confusing as well. I also listened to the audiobook version and had to rewind many times in the beginning trying to make sense of it then finally gave up. It makes more sense as you go. It was good, but not one of my favorites.
Do you know about the controversy surrounding "The Darkness Under Water"? There were members of the Native American community who were offended by it. I'll be anxious to discuss it with you when you're done.
Assessment and instruction of reading and writing difficulty: an interactive approach??? Seriously, Carol??? You are out of control! Is this my fault?

WOW you have read alot of books compared to my shelf
I like your book selection and authour preferences. You might also like David Mendell's book on Barak Obama "From Promise to Power". I found it absolutely rivetting, perhaps because I read it just ahead of the US election. But it remains a good unofficial "biographical" read. I also love Bryson's humour. If you haven't read them yet his Notes on a small Island (UK of course) and on Africa (a little book on Care Africa work in Kenya) as well as his "Shakespeare" are equally good. He has the ability to treat cultural taboos with simple disdain yet without being discourteous all the while providing a good read.
Interesting book list. I have a few similar books.
If you liked the Curious Incident book I can recommend other similar books.
