I love to read, which is why I joined this site. I've graduated from the University of Arizona and I'm currently working for Wal-Mart. I'll try just about any genre to read, but that doesn't gurantee that I'll like it. Nora Roberts is my favorite author but Charlaine Harris runs a close second.

I recently organized a discussion group, Troubleshooters & Tall, Dark and Dangerous, for fans of these two Suzanne Brockmann series. We're just getting underway and I invite you to join us as you seem to have many of the series' titles on your shelf.

You also seem to be a fan of the In Death series and might want to check out the J. D. Robb Rules group. We have a lot of fun on this site.

Thanks and we hope to hear from you.

Hey, just browsing and I saw your bookshelf. Lots of Dean Koontz. He's one of my faves and a super-cool guy as well. I actually dedicated a book of mine called RUN to him because he's been such a great guy over the years (he's friends with my dad, so I get to call him once in a while and gush about him). Anywho, cool shelf; thanks for letting me browse!

    Hi Alice,

Thanks for your friendship on Shelfari. I noticed in your profile that you read Iva Ibbotson's 'The Reluctant Heiress'. I enjoyed that one and I actually read it because it was a recommendation from Stephenie Meyer :)

I requested your friendship because you are so incredibly well read and I thought from looking at your shelf that my story may appeal to you. I am a new author, and when I began writing my own series, ‘Mayne Attraction’, I used Stephenie Meyer's style as a guide, working very hard to capture that strong emotional pull toward the characters and the enthusiasm for their love that she achieved so well in her story. If you enjoyed Bella's realism and modesty and Edward's obsessive, desperate attachment to her, and if you enjoyed reading how it played out in mysterious and exciting turns and twists, then I'm sure you'll enjoy my book, "Mayne Attraction: In The Spotlight", about a girl (Ellery 'Mayne') who discovers that a security team has been secretly shadowing and protecting her. As the mystery of their presence unravels she faces decisions about her future and the hopes of two love interests: a handsome but conflicted security specialist (Ash) who doesn't realize she knows about him, and her first love, (Gray) a guy who broke her heart, that suddenly returns to explain his actions and his feelings for her.

If you're curious enough to read more, you can check it out at http:\\www.mayneattraction.com where about half the novel is posted for you to read for free as a preview online. There are also photos of the real locations where certain scenes take place and music that the characters enjoy to round out your experience when you visit. The series contains three books, each told from the perspective of one of the three main characters in the romantic triangle at the heart of the story.

Just like with Midnight Sun, some of my very favorite chapters are told from the point of view of the "Edward" of my story, Ash Ryan. He's a security specialist who's fallen desperately in love with Ellery, but he and his team are enjoying the easiest, most incredibly high paying job any of them have ever had. They will lose the contract if Ellery finds out about them, so he can only watch her life and not participate in it without betraying his friends and colleagues. When she surprises him by reaching out to him in secret, it's like a dream come true for him, until Gray shows up and it all turns into a new kind of nightmare...

A few of the scenes from Ash's story ‘In The Shadow’ are also posted on the site, but his book is not quite finished—it should be available this fall.

I hope you'll check out the site and the story (www.MayneAttraction.com). If you do, and you like it, please leave a comment at the bottom of any chapter; and adding it to your shelf here at Shelfari and/or posting a nice review about it wouldn’t hurt either! :) In fact, it would mean the world to me!!! I hope to hear from you!

Thank you so much Alice! (and sorry for the long note!)

Just out of curiosity - Shelfari claims you added 480 books today. Is that true? and if so, how long did it take to accomplish this?
