“I've been waiting for Savannah's book since Dime Store Magic so there's a lot of expectation there. Overall I was pleased with the result. Still the same Armstrong storytelling magic, still the same interesting wittiness in Savannah's character. While I got to several 'whodunnit' moments before the characters or suspected the killer long before we were supposed to, there were several times when I was thrown for a loop. The ending was by far the biggest surprise.
While much tamer in the steam department than other books in the WOTO series, it's to be expected as Savannah is young and more or less single. The HEA that I expected in this book didn't come (which was another big surprise) but the way this book played out made me happy that the story would continue further. It's just a shame that we have to wait soooo long for the next installment.
Overall, a good read, a nice "coming of age" for the character and a good hook into whatever comes next.”
