Hi Jackie, good to hear from you. Yeah, reading does relax me too....the trouble is it relaxes me too much and I fall asleep when I try to read in the evening! I haven't even started that book, "The Book Thief" yet and will wait until the holidays are over. My neighbor across the street from us in Florida is going to start the book club down there. (she reads all the time like you) We'll decide on a book to read after everyone gets back after the holidays. I'm ready to go back there after today ..... FREEZING up here! I love the snow...but sure don't like this cold wind!!!!
Hi Jackie! Just a "hello" tonight. As you can see I've been too busy to read this month! I have finished my shopping (mostly on line). Now just waiting for UPS or post office to do their job!!! Looks like you have been busy reading. I'll be glad when I finally have some time to relax and read. We're starting a book club in Florida, so that will be something to look forward to.
Hummmm I'll probably do that too when we get back here after the holidays. Too much going on right now. Have you started your shopping yet? I am getting nervous already and don't know what to get anyone!!!!
Hi JacquelineI have read this book and all of her others. I will say that she writes very well and her books always keep you interested. THis is one of my favorites and she does a wonderful job with the story. I will be shocked if you don't like it. We should be friends so we can chat about books!erin
corrected spelling : "The Book Thief." :)
Yeah, I recognized that picture!! Wasn't that a wonderful trip? I know what you mean about so many interesting books out there to read!!! I have one now, "The Book Their" that I bought before we came down here and haven't started that one yet. I finished that very thick vampire book that I borrowed from Diane yesterday. I'm going to have to get that book, "Company of a Courtesan!" I see you joined a group on here. I haven't done that yet, Not sure what they do on there. Do you enjoy the group?
Hey! I love your picture!!!!! Looks like you've been busy reading and adding books! I just finished the 4th book in the "Twilight" series. My friend Carolyn read that book, "Company of a Courtesan" and she recommended it to me a long time ago. I think they read that one in their book club. I never read it, but it looks like you liked it too so I will have to look into that one. Saw Jan and Ty last night. We set up a date to go to dinner with them next Wednesday. Good to see them!
I just joined a few minutes ago and need some time to digest how it works, but it looks like fun and informative!!!
I knew you would like this site!!! I went out to lunch today with Carolyn and other retired teachers who are in the book club (that I used to belong to) and they were talking about the book, "A Reliable Wife" which I see you have read. I think I'll plan on reading that one too because it sounded pretty good! I told them about this site for people who love books so won't be surprised to hear that some of them have joined it!
Oh....Didn't you love the book, "Water for Elephants?" That was one of my favorites! Also noticed that you have read one of those books that TJ has read ... "Eragon." He's read a whole series of these...in fact he had me make a bookmark with a picture of that serpent or what ever that thing is!!! :)
Hey Jackie!!! Welcome!!!! Isn't this a neat site!!! I had so much fun adding my books to my shelf..the ones that I could remember, that is. Oh, by the way, don't read that book I told you about...."Say You're One of Them!" I hated it all the way through!!!! Another one of Oprah's books that I disliked!!! I'm now reading "Olive Kitteridge" by Elizabeth Strout. So far it's pretty good..takes place in Maine. If you like historical novels you can go up to Books above and click on subjects and they will recommend a few.
