I am a avid reader who graduated from college with a Interior Design and art minor degree (hence why I couldn't find a job in those fields, damn economy) and am now in retail.

You've given me great recommendations - I may end up using Snow White and Rose Red, or another one that interests me, The Light at the end of the Day . I have another assignment - I need to find a book for 10th graders, also summer reading, preferably before the 15th century, that has the potential for stirring student interest in British Literature. Ideas? Thanks!

Welcome to the group, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. There is a general explanation of the group under guidelines and the book(s) of the month that the group is reading are pinned to the top. I hope you will be able to enjoy the group and perhaps join in one or more of the monthly reads. We will be picking a new book soon. Usually occurs around this time. We will be choosing from authors whose last names start with L.

ok. I have a question for you since you seem to know a lot of fairy tale type books. A friend at work was telling me about a fairy tale book in which since Sleeping beauty was gifted with perfect grace and voice and stuff she was a ninja assassin. Have you ever heard of this?

Thank you for answering my question about The Goose Girl. I'm afraid I might have given slightly the wrong impression with my question so I thought I'd explain a little just in case you were offended. I do not believe there is anything wrong with reading books for the sheer fun but I find that I do that a little too often and I need to prioritize and be more conservative with my time. By using the word "frivilous" I did not mean to be insulting fairy tales (which I very much enjoy) or anything else, by "frivolous" I meant books that don't particularly edify or grow the reader. I know that type of book is good to read once in awhile but I don't believe it's best for me to have a steady diet of it. :) Also, a book does not need to mention God, necessarily, to strengthen and grow my walk with Him. So to sum this up, I do think I would enjoy The Goose Girl very much, but I'm not sure that it would be profitable for me to read it while I'm at this stage of life. Thank you very much for your thoughtful answer.

Yeah, they were a cool twist on all the regular
fantasy stories. How do you like kitchen princess? or the master cooking boy?
i think you can only find the master cooking boy in only a few places though.
I live in Indonesia, so I read it almost all the time there. i can't find it hre. (its a manga)
