Hi Haley, I'm having a proper giggle reading your Gerard Butler comments. Seriously he's wearing just a towel on Bounty Hunter? I really need to see that movie lol Have you seen PS I Love You? He's great in that too even though he dies :( He still steals the whole film though.

I haven't seen Remember Me but I plan to. Seriously there's going to be a Pirates 4?!! Thats great!

To tell you the truth Haley, I'm not a fan of books where they are having sex like every two minutes. I mean come on, your lives are in danger and all the hero/heroines can think of is what a great butt the other has or how quickly they can get each others clothes off? I was put off some of Keri Arthur's books for that very reason and Christine Feehan's books are along similar lines. I usually skip pages where they go into graphic detail. Books can be just as good minus the sex scenes and it's nice to leave the readers to their own imagination. Stephanie Meyer mercifully left out details of Bella & Edwards honeymoon in Breaking Dawn for example.

Anyway what are you reading at the moment?

Hi Haley, I'm sorry for the late reply as I've had family over from Norway and things have been abit hectic. I've finally managed to get my copy of Dead In The Family though so I'll let you know whether or not Sookie's relationship with Eric works out or not. Thats if you want to know ok?

I totally agree with you over Gerard Butler. He is definately hot. As I mentioned, I first saw him in Wes Craven's Dracula 2000. He had gorgeous curly hair and absolutely smouldered throughout his scenes. I've seen him in several films since, but he is hotter in Dracula. I do agree with your Rob Patz comments too, he's a fine actor - I've seen some of his earlier work too when he was a budding actor and I think that if he can shake off his Twilight image in the future, that he can go onto do great things. I think he will find it difficult to shake his Edward persona off though!

I haven't seen Eclipse yet unfortunately. I will let you know as soon as I do and we can compare notes. From your description though it sounds good. I'm looking forward to seeing Jasper's chance to shine on screen as he hasn't had many scenes in the first two films.

I'm going to order all the Nora Roberts books you recommended as soon as I've finished my Julia Quinn collection. She's written a good 20 odd books and I've read five already. Her Bridgerton series is excellent, funny and touching at the same time. I haven't read any Christine Feehan books. Have you?

Hi Haley, I'm so sorry about the late reply (I've had family over from abroad) Thanks for your nice long juicy letter. I finished reading Dead and Gone since we last chatted and really enjoyed it. I thought for aterrible moment that they were going to kill Bill off after his battle with the fae but thankfully they didn't. I know I'm not a fan of his relationship with Sookie, but I wasn't ready for him to be killed off yet. Sookie's torture at the hands of the fae was uncomfortable reading at times. I think it's changed her whole outlook on life. Made her harder which is a shame. There's only so many times a heroine can bounce back from being almost killed in every book though! I'm waiting for Dead In The family from the library. Have you read it?

Regarding the VA series - here goes. In Shadow Kiss Rose and Dimitri made a pact that if either of them were turned into strigoi, the other would kill them rather than let them roam as an evil vampire. Blood Promise follows Rose's emotional struggle as she travels to Russia to hunt down Dimitri and fulfill this promise. When she does meet him, she is too stunned by his Strigoi appearance to attempt to kill him, and ends up being held hostage by him. He doesn't kill her however, as he wants her to willingly become a Strigoi like himself. He feeds off her for weeks in order to keep her in a weakened and drugged state so that she won't have the strength to escape. She does escape eventually and in a final duel with Dimitri, stakes him and he falls off a bridge into the river below. At the end of the book however, she gets a note off Dimitri promising retribution and realises with horror that he's still alive. In Spirit Bound, Rose tries to find a way to turn Dimitri back from a Strigoi into a dhampir and finally succeeds with the help of Lyssa who heals him. This is where Dimitri really pees me off. After all that Rose has gone through with her capture and torture at Dimitri's hands as well as the terrible risk she takes by breaking Victor out of jail to discover a way to turn Dimitri back - he refuses to see her! Ok so he feels bad about what he put her through, but Rose is so happy to have him back that she doesn't care! He breaks her heart everytime he refuses to acknowledge her and keeps looking at Lyssa with wonder like she's some goddess or something. It's as if Lyssa gets all the credit for him being turned back and what Rose went through doesn't count. Do you see what I mean?

I totally agree with you over Stuart Townsend Haley.lol I've seen that film so many times and I love the music in it too. I also loved Gerard Butler in Dracula 2000 too. I was practically drooling all over the couch watching it. I don't know what it is about vampires that gets me hot under the collar - I mean I grew up watching Christopher Lee for God's sake!

I started my Julia Quinn books yesterday Haley. I love this author. She really makes you get into the skin of her characters and get caught up in them. When i'm not crying my eyes out I'm laughing out loud. I'm reading The Duke and I at the moment.

Haley, thank you so much for taking the time to write a list of Nora Roberts books that are paranormal orientated. I've added them all and will let you know when I start the series so we can compare notes. How are your Cathy Maxwell books coming along? Also have you got round to seeing Eclipse yet? Anyway it's been great chatting to you as always - take care Haley Bye!

Hi Haley, yes it's worth giving the Blue Bloods another go when you can. I was hooked by book three, Revelations. I saw the first two books in a different light after reading three so hopefully you will too.

I heard the two leads from True Blood had married which was kinda cool. I totally agree with you over Eric though. He is THE man! I did feel a twinge of pity for Bill in the book I'm reading now, Dead and Gone. He see's Eric leaving Sookie's house after having spent the night but is still protecting her by standing guard outside her house.

Are you sure you want to know about what happens in Spirit Bound Haley? It will be a crucial plot giveaway if I was to reveal why Dimitri is a right pain in the book. Let me know and I will definately tell you in the next note.

I love Queen of The Damned too! Stuart Townsend was brilliant I thought. I love the tracks in the film too. I enjoyed Interview With A vampire too but the second was my favourite. I'm definately going to give the books a go in the near future. I want to read Ann Rice's The Mayfair Witches series too.

I read Julia Quinn's The Secret Diaries Of Miss Miranda Cheever and actually found myself having to suppress my giggles as I was reading it during bedtime. Haley, her books are so charming and funny I think. I gave it five stars and I wouldn't hesitate to read it again. I've got several others lined up and can't wait to read them.

Haley, will you list the books by Nora Roberts that have supernatural and magical elements in? I'd really appreciate it. I'm trying to get hold of her In the Garden trilogy but have only bought The Blue Dahlia yet. I'm not as much of a fan of crime and mystery but I love supernatural or paranormal elements.

Anyway take care Haley, hope to hear from you soon gal - Bye!!

Hi Haley, I look forward to discussing Eclipse and will let you know when I've seen it. How far did you get with the Blue Bloods before you decided to give them a miss? The first book was luke warm for me but I found that the plot became more intriguing as the books progressed.

The Vampire Academy books were o.k. My only criticism was of Dimitri, for some reason he'd really annoy me sometimes lol. When you read Spirit Bound you will understand what I mean.

The Sookie books are really addictive for me though. I'm on the 9th book so far and I'm awestruck that the author still has something to write about after so many books. I'm glad she's held off from Sookie and Bill reuniting as I'm not a fan of Bill in the books. He's so bland. He's more interesting in the TV show I think as the two stars have great chemistry. In the books though I'm more of an Eric fan. He makes me laugh esp when he refers to Sookie as 'my lover'. I get goosebumps all over lol.

I've heard nothing but positive reviews about Anne Rice and I'm going to try and get her books in the near futrure. I haven't read the Evernight series yet as I only own the first book and I want to have all three beforehand. Is there going to be a 4th book?

Have you read Alyson Noels Immortal series? I've just bought the third book and plan to read all them in one go. I've got alot of Julia Quinn books that are waiting to be read so I'm cotemplating on whether to read them after the Sookie books.

    What are you reading now?

Hi Haley, it's lovely to hear from you! I know exactly what you mean about Jasper - I wanted to see more of him in the first two films and hope he features more in the third film.

I've been gobbling alot of vampire books lately. I read the Blue Bloods and the Vampire Academy books some weeks ago. I'm currently reading the 7th book in the Sookie Stackhouse books at the moment. I've got a couple of Nicholas Sparks and James Pattersons lined up next as I seriously need to give vampires a rest. I think all my fellow Shelfarians are getting bored of me for not trying other genres. Seriously though I love vampires. Have you read any other vampire books yourself apart from Twilight?

What are you reading at the moment and have you read any other good books lately?

Hi Haley, Hope you are well. First of all I can't believe that Breaking Dawn is'nt popular among your correspondents. Personally I love it and dreaded coming to the end of the book. The first three books all lead up to Bella finally becoming a vampire and I think the added bonus of her and Edward marrying AND having a baby is brilliant. I must say though that I did not see the part where Jacob imprints with Renessme coming!! I also like Leah and Seth Clearwater especially where they support Jacob against the rest of the pack. I laughed so much at some of the things Leah said throughout the book. What is it about the book that you've found people not liking? I'm really looking forward to the film.

I'm planning to read Robin McKinley's Sunshine after I've finished The Darkangel trilogy. Have you read it? If you have, I would appreciate your views on it. Let me know what you decide to read after Breaking Dawn. Bye!

Hi Haley, thank you - I look forward to hearing your views. What are you reading at the moment? Is it any good? I have just finished reading A Gathering Of Gargoyles By Meredith Ann Pierce. It is the second book in The Darkangel Trilogy. Have you heard of the trilogy? Here's a quick review:

Eoduin, a beautiful young woman, is abducted by a vampyre while out with her slave Aeriel gathering flowers, and carried off to be a vampyre's bride. Aeriel, determined to avenge her mistress, returns to the peak from which Eoduin was stolen and waits until the vampyre should return. Eventually, he comes for her and she can not kill him because of his beauty and power, and he takes her but not to be his bride. She is to continue her existence as a slave, but now she has thirteen mistresses, the vampyre's brides, who have all been reduced to wraiths by the stealing of their blood, hearts, and souls. Unable to tell which is Eoduin, Aeriel eventually learns to love them all for her mistress' sake.

Wandering in the garden of the vampyre's keep, she comes upon a duarough, a tiny man who turns to stone in sunlight, but becomes flesh in shadow. He is a mage, and he gives her a ryme and sends her on a quest, for if the darkangel (or the vampyre) can be destroyed before he can take his fourteenth and last wife, then the power of the White Witch (his 'mother') will be checked for a time. His death will also prevent him becoming a full vampire and joining with his six other brothers and ruleing the world. And so Aeriel flees the castle and begins a quest that will take her wandering far into the desert to find the hoof of a starhorse, the traditional guardian of the realm that the vampyre has usurped. With this talisman, she can defeat the vampyre.

The above review is Of the first book. I'm about to start the third book which is The Pearl of the Soul of the World. These books are ideal if you like reading about quests. I look forward to hearing about your current book. Take care Bye!
