I was in Paris with Edwin. We walked around, went to shows and restaurants as his father once promise to do with me. It was good and sad but necessary. I could not impose on Anne. She does not know me very well and I know she is quite busy. Edwin is going to try to live in in Paris. He will try to find a place to live and a job just to keep him going. i think a First in Oxford should help him a bit, even if just for a waiter's job in a strong touristic city. Can you read his CV and check for mistakes in French? He did it all by himself with the help of a dictionary and feels a bit unsure. I told him that you would be glad to help, hope it is ok. He is also on shelfari. Thanks Stuart and please send my love to your family

Edwin and I will be in Paris from 27.06 to 29.06. I need a break before I start working next month. We will look around to see places for him to live and maybe check on the possibility of him getting a job in a book shop or whatever just to pay for the everyday bread! (an Oxford degree must be good for something) Would love to meet you even if for just a cup of coffee or even better a limited amount of red wine. xx to all

Very slowly I am reading Emily Post by Laura Claridge, You probably know her as an Etiquette person but she was also an architect, designer and business woman. The writer has a vocabulary that keeps me going to the dictionary. Headed to South Africa and think I will try Assegai by Wilbur Smith ( NYT best sellars) for a geographic tie in. ( well almost it takes place in East Africa, but what a little compass direction??)

It is a fantastic way to keep a record of what one reads, isn't it? I regret so much I did not keep a list of the wonderful books I read over the years. This site will help me to rescue a lot, I think. Yes, reading has always been very important for me.
