Have you read "The American Plague" yet? A well written book by a graduate of St. Mary's about yellow fever, especially how it affected Memphis.Liked the Alchemist, but that was a while ago. Read a good one about Afghanistan. It was called The Beauty School or something. Written by an American who went to Kabul and started training Afghan women as beauticians. Can't remember her name.

I loved those Irene Adler books! I will have to read them again. And - oh - THANKS for getting me into yet another THING!!! I will NEVER get all my books on here. I was just thinking about Lakota Woman the other day and put it on first. I will have to do more this weekend. take care....

A thousand books? I know you're older than me, but WHERE do you find the time?!?!? (And, my God ... you're currently reading 4? It takes me so long to finish one book I sometimes forget characters and events between readings...)
note: do not read 'Heart Shaped Box' (what I am currently reading). It was recommended by Neal Gaiman, so I thought it was good, but unfortunately it resembles a sensationalistic Stephen King with Ozzy Osbourne as protagonist. Ick.
I can't believe you have added on so many books. I've read a lot, especially in the last few years, but sad to say most of them are fluff. I have read some really good ones though and will try to dig them up.
