One of my favorite books as a kid was Daniel Cohen's "A Natural History of Unnatural Things." It's about monsters, but my parents initially thought it was something far more perverse...like the sorts of things I'm reading now....

It's only fair and natural: I've grabbed more than a couple of suggestions from you, too.

So you liked the backstory angle of Hannibal Rising? That (coupled with poor reviews) was the reason I haven't read the book. I kinda like my psychopaths' insanity unexplained.

Karla: A pact with the Devil and the French edition is obviously Karla: Le Pacte Avec Le Diable, by Stephen Williams.
Again I think it was originally written in English.

    Hi Eileen
    Hope all is well.
I've just stumbled upon a TC book in French, and thought about you. It's called La Beauté Disparue, L'affaire Robin Benedict by Teresa Carpenter. The author's name doesn't sound French at all, which makes me think that it was probably written in English and then translated.
It's about the case of Robin Benedict, killed by Professor William Douglas. I have no idea if it is any good though, but since I'd promised you to try and find any TC in French, I was surprised to find this.
I'm reading a book called The professor and the prostitute, about this case and some others, which Karen kindly sent me.
I also remember that there is another book in French on my TBR list, about Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo, the Canadian couple (I have posted a discussion about it on our group). Of course, as it happened in Canada, the probability of a book about it in French is much higher than other cases.
Hope that is of any help, should you get interested in it. I'll keep looking for others.

    Hi Eileen
Thanks for the invitation to the Weird group..
I'm also writing to let you know I've just finished reading Guilty by Reason of Insanity, and I really enjoyed it. It does shed a different light on MPD, and the author seems pretty good a professional. Thank you so much for that.
