I am a bookcollector, collecting books that have received local/international awards. No books from Noble prize winners unless a specific book is rewarded ofcourse. But anything that received an award, from Gouden Griffels (Netherlands),Man Booker to Newbery Medals for Children's books, signed books and photo's from the winners, different language issues.
In The Netherlands we also have special books given for free or a small price to promote reading: the week of the book, the week of children's literature, as well as the week of the classics, month of spirituality/filosophy, and I try to collect these items as well.
Only just begun, so what I am actually doing here is showing my bookcollection while it grows, and ofcourse, I will tell what I personally think about the books.
Ofcourse I also read other books. Favorite authors are PG Wodehouse, Agatha Christie, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Godfried Bomans and others
I love to read, historical novels, fantasy, medieval detectives and detectives in general, everything about Asia (from novel to travelbooks), comics, erotica, biographies, children's books and books on photographers.
Would love to hear from other bookcollectors, not important WHAT you collect!
I live in Amsterdam, travel a lot (have been to 21 countries around the world so far), and have many other hobbies: from travel to cooking, from Disney to stamps, from history to royalty, and much more.
Oh, and in case you visit Amsterdam, let me know and I give you a tour to the best bookshops (new/second hand) in town to find you some great bargains to take home.
