I'm happiest with a book in my hands!

Recently I have been sucked into the world of YA fiction. The Hungers Games series is one of my favorites! I also enjoy reading classics. Jane Eyre and Villette are two of my favorites. This year my goal is to read Anna Karenina.

I love getting recommendations from other readers. ... more »

Oh yea! Thanks for bringing them to me yesterday. :) If you see any of the sorry, loser books on my bookshelf that you want to try with the hopes that they are more interesting to you than they were to me, please let me know!

I'm hoping to get over to either Paupers or Mr. Mike's sometime when I'm off work and enjoying my vacation. So that's why I added all these books - in hopes of finding one or more of them. :) Amazon posted a thing on FB to poll folks about their favorite books of the year and I went and collected the titles of those that looked interesting. If I end up getting some I'd love to share them with you. Always fun to find one I love and pass it on!

Howdy! We ended up going to Pauper's in Clayton. Pretty successful trip. :) I got several more books and we sold about $25.00 worth. I still have my Mr. M's Groupon to use, so that's something I can look forward to in the near future! I'm sore today - I'm not quite sure what I did different in the class I taught yesterday, but whatever it was it worked! Hopefully I can figure it out before tomorrow, so I can share with ya'll! :)

So far I'm really enjoying "Firefly Lane". Very similar writing style to Jodi Picoult's books. I'm thinking there is nothing better to do on a super hot Sunday afternoon than heading to a nice used bookstore...or two. :) We have another pile of books to try and sell, so hopefully with some credit from the books and my snazzy new Groupon, I'll have another armful of new reads. Not that I need to put more books on the shelf...still a bunch on there that I haven't read. But you can never have too many books! :)

I was browsing my bookshelf and found "Firefly Lane". I had forgotten that I had this waiting for me. What a pleasant surprise! Thanks for letting me borrow it - I see that you still have it as a "plans to read". I should have it back to you next week - hopefully with rave reviews!

Ah, good to know about the prices...I'll need to check them out to see if they are frequently running more than I'd want to spend before I buy a reader. Thanks for the offer of the pdfs, I may take you up on it once I get caught up on the ones waiting on my shelf. I'm excited to try the one Jodi P. book you lent me as well as one I bought a while ago called "Twelve". I need to finish up this latest one I'm on - been a good book, but haven't found time to read it because we've been car shopping. Exciting, but exhausting and very time consuming! Enjoy the 4th!

Howdy! Somehow I missed the email that said I had a note from you! Anyway, thanks for the books! I'm really enjoying this latest Jodi P. book, but already dreading the ending! Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and a miracle will happen and it will have a happy ending! I don't blame you for getting Nook books - I'm still contemplating getting one myself...maybe Christmas. :) Have a great holiday weekend!

I hope The Foretelling is good...I started a Hoffman book "The Probably Future" and it sounded like it was going to be great, but then I promptly put it down and grabbed the next Jodi P. book. I think I'm just in that kind of mood I guess. I go through phases - YA, thrillers, dramas, etc. I'm in my drama book phase now. I already know this one is going to be a heartbreaker. It's similar to how I imagine My Sister's Keeper to be...about 2 sisters - one has a rare illness. Hope I'm pleasantly surprised at a happy ending, but I'm thinking not. Enjoy your week!

Oh cool! Yes, I'd love to borrow it. Let me know if you are interested in any of the ones I finished recently. I didn't love the other 2 Hoffman books I finished. They were good, but not as good as the Ice Queen or River King. But you are welcome to try them if they look interesting. Have a great weekend!

Torment was just more whiny teenaged angst. I think it was even worse than Fallen, the characters are abnoxious, and the plot doesn't even make sense. I thought it was a waste of time.

I have discovered that many of the classics aren't as difficult to understand as I thought they would be.

Sorry, I haven't read Villette yet. I'm slowly working my way through the classics. It's been a lot of fun.

I liked your review of Wuthering Heights. I wouldn't read it again either.
