Barbara Ann

Growing up I did everything I could NOT to read; I thought it was terribly boring. I also had difficulty retaining what I read, so it just wasn't a fun activity. Then I found "chicklit" books and I started reading like crazy. My favorites are mysteries, but I try to read 5-7 high school reading books a year, and I'm now puzzles as to why I... more »

    That's because I have wayyyyyyyyy

too many books. I can't seem to get all of what I have read down....let alone, what I want to read. But pray for me: Perhaps I can settle down and add some of what I intend to read.

This is one interesting book. It really makes you wonder "What if this really happened?"This was the first book of this kind I've read. I would say it's more about indians, women, friendship, love, and adaption than frontier life. Let me know when you read it!!! I picked it for a book club pick late last year! Everyone liked it. I'll have to check it's average rating from the Graces.

Haha yeah that was one of her funniest moments, it was a funny coincidence for her to meet someone with that name when she was in the middle of all those religion dilemmas!
I gave keeping faith three stars in comparison to change of heart, i found change of heart to be much more powerful, especially with the issue of shay being on death row. it brought up a lot of issues about morality with it. What interesting is, one of the main characters in Keeping Faith is Ian Fletcher! who was mentioned in " Change of Heart". It was so interesting to see what became of him in " Change of heart ".

I loved maggie, i couldnt help but laugh at the part where she commented on how she rarely washes her jeans because they wouldnt fit later on. How realistic! its something so small, yet it made her character much more real! I could relate to her too!
Many people were disappointed in the book itself , and the majority in the ending but I actually liked the ending. Jodi picoult left it to us, the readers, whether we wanted to believe or not. I guess the reason behind their reaction is that the book touched faith and religion, which makes it much more personal than her other books. Have you read her other book " Keeping Faith", its so similiar to this one in terms of content :)

    Thank you :)

ill start with that then, Thank you :) !!
And yes I do watch the TV show, its one of my favorites, forensic anthropology is very intriguing! I just realized recently that the show was based on novels, i was so excited when i found out! To me, anything thats written is always better than watched, though I've heard from many that the show and the novels are slightly different.
    Thanks again :)
