All four of us have been vaccinated for H1N1 now. Kate isn't too happy that she is supposed to get another dose in 30 days. Hope they still have some by then!

Hey Mom! Hope you like it. I thought of you when reading it. Don't work too hard! Been busy but not too bad lately. I'm sure it will pick up though:) Love ya.

Kate's home sick today. Sean stayed with her. If she is still sick I'm staying home tomorrow. Ryan's not feeling too good either, but no fever for him so he went to school. No jury duty until at least Thursday if at all. Busy at work. Finally finished In the Woods. Loved it!

Is Dad harvesting corn yet? I saw one field being combined last weekend not too far from our house. Made me think of home!

Sugar Daddy is back! After a week on his own, he came back home Sunday. We decided just to let him live loose. Kate leaves food, water, and the odd vegetable for him. We catch brief glimpses of him - it's like sightings of Big Foot!

I didn't know Sam had a birthday party. We would have come home for it. I haven't pieced a quilt in about six months - that's how I read so many books! I'm sure you will find enough clothes to wear to Liz's. Aren't you excited to be going to see her? I hope you have good weather.

I'm glad the books went to a good home. The Lemony Snickett books might be too young for Meagan's class anyway, and the grandkids will love hearing you read them. Did you follow the MU game on the radio? I am in desperate need of new clothes. I've been thinning out my closet throwing things away that are really worn out, just so I will quit wearing them!

Hey Ma! Anything new? Things are a bit calmer today at work (shhhhh...I don't want to jinx it). I may be able to be all caught up heading into the three day weekend (and not have to come in except maybe to work on some research projects)! I plan to go to the library and read a LOT (non medical books, of course). I need to go shopping, too. I desperately need work clothes. Love ya!

I'm glad you had a productive retreat. You are much more energetic than I've been lately. I still need to bind one of my quilts, and finish the Double Irish Chain. I read White Oleander a few years ago and didn't like it either. I've started reading "The Mysterious Benedict Society" aloud with the kids each night. Kids books are the best!

How was the quilt retreat? I didn't accomplish much this weekend. Yesterday we did a little shopping after church. The kids were in need of jeans and Sean needed dress shirts. We need to plan our shopping trip. I'm in desperate need of a wardrobe boost. I've been wearing the same five shirts every weeken for about four months now!

I'll save my copy of 'In Defense of Food" for you. It is interesting, but don't let dad read it!

I got four advance copy books the other day. A couple of them look really good. When you come down over Labor Day, you can take a look and see if any interest you.

Thanks for the picture of Rayn & Kate! First day of school was yesterday. Kate has the same teacher she had (& loved) in 2nd grade. Ryan's teacher is the mother of a friend so he is also excited. Four of the five rabbits are still alive, Archie played with one a little too roughly. It's rained here every day this week, but I think it should be clear and sunny today. I finally finished "2666", on to "I See You Everywhere" by Julia Glass. It's about sisters. Luv you.

Did you buy "2666"? I'm still reading it. It was written as five books, and I'm on the fourth book now. This book is unlike anything else I've ever read, challenging for sure. I'm going to read some light fluff for awhile after I finish it!

Hey Ma. Haven't had a chance to contact Adam yet, but will soon. Been fairly busy at work, but what can you do? I think I need a vacation:) Started running again after a long break - on my third week back. It was so painful at first, but it is slowly getting easier, thank goodness. This morning it actually felt pretty good - progress! Not that hot here, but it has been so humid!
Have fun at the state fair - I love the fair. Wish I could go with you!! L

Hi Mom. Have you been busy at work? Sean is gearing up for the start of school. We got the kids school supplies and tennis shoes yesterday. Sean and I went out to eat last night for our anniversary. Thanks for the card. Doing chores today. I'm 450 pages through "2666", so about half of it left to go. I caved last night and bought a book - "Me and Mr. Darcy". Just what I need, another book!

Rained early this morning, I couldn't sleep anyway and got up to do some housework. I think we're staying home today, it would be just my luck to leave town and something would happen. I need to get the kids some tennis shoes and school supplies, but might save that for the no-sales tax weekend next week. I think that is all the school shopping we will do until the weather gets cooler. The weather is crazy this year. It's like Seattle and Boston have switched summers. And our weather has been incredible. I don't remember any other July this comfortable. Kate and Ryan are signing up for 4-H. Ryan wants to do shooting and Kate is planning on baking/cooking of some kind. Say hi to Steve and Judy!

The screaming was unbelievable! I still feel like my head is under water today. We desperately need to mow our yard. Between the rain and the busy schedules we just haven't got it done. I'm still on call this weekend, but just two lines running on Saturday. I'm not sure if I can gamble and leave town or not!
