Reading Lolita may not be for everyone. Though I found Nabakov's writing to be exceptional, the story is quite odd. Most people believe that Lolita is a story about a child molester. It isn't (though some pedifile sex scenes do occur). What the book is about is how the guilt of giving in to his pedifile tendencies drove an otherwise respectable man out of is mind. Lolita is written in first person, and as the story advances the reader can see that the narrator is losing his mind. The story is all about guilt, and its affect on the human soul.
