Lily

I am an avid reader who enjoys a wide variety of different subjects. I Will be starting law school this fall so probably will not have as much time for pleasure reading but hope to make my goal of 50 books for 2009. And am always looking for good book recommendations, so if you have any, let me know!

If you are the Lily who had asked about Thirteenth Tale, and said you are not into sci fi-this is not a science fiction book at all. It is a delicious gothic "Rebecca" or "Wuthering Heights" curl up in a blanket with hot chocolate and read til you drop kind of book.

Thanks for joining my book of the month online book club. We are reading Shadow of the Wind for this month. We will vote on next months book between the first and the fifth (most votes wins). Feel free to recommend a book to read by putting it on the shelf under We're reading, the book under we've read is either a past month, or the one we've picked for the month. Please add anything to the discussions. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Lily, I saw your note/question about eat pray love.  It was recommended to me by a female reverend who raved over the book.  I wasn't overly impressed, but I found a hard time relating to the character. we are two very different people!  BUT nonetheless it was enjoyable.  I like to see others perspectives and read about others experiences anyway. That is why I wrote my book Midnight Veil. It is about a young woman from New England who loses her way.  It was written with raw emotion that I think everyone can relate to.  I wonder if Elizabeth Gilbert felt the same way? Welcome to Shelfari!

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I or Mossflower can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let us know.
If you don’t own the book the list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845. A downloadable list of the second edition is available at http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?page_id=160.
