I use to read a lot when I was in High School but got out of the habit until about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I picked up a used book by Emma Holly and have not stopped reading since. Who knew books could be so HOT! Up until then I had only read mysteries, young adult style, but now, with over 300 books under my belt, I need to expand my horizons. I have... more »

    hi christie
i agree with you finding something to be passionate about really does help with writing, i am trying to write a story about my kids at the moment aswell as some comedy.i love laughing it makes me feel alive, although manically laughing to my self in the middle of town does get some strange looks, i just think your only young once unfortunatly that was good few years ago lol.i have just started reading anita blake what books are you into at the moment? add me as a friend if you wish i thought i would try this "friendship" thing cant really see it taking off though lol!

    Hai, Christie
Angle's Game is almost as good as The Shadow of the Wind, I think that Angle's Game is a more constructed Book, in my opinion

Almost any love story or romance can be construed as having the elements of Romeo/Juliet theme. However, that by itself does not give it, as Shakespeare himself puts it: "substance!" I did also mention the Teen element might have been one of the major reasons for her sloppiness in various areas.Ironically enough, the voc was not that of teens at all if one pays attention to the use of words. I liked B.D. in terms of writing skills rather than theme or plot.

P.S. whatever u do avoid seeing the movies..................poor choice of actors and ham acting all the way through. And plz don't say books are always better than their movie versions. I already know that but this was simply ridiculous.
P.P.S. Check works of Tim Burton such as: Alice In Wonderland, Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings, etc. that were all book adaptations.

Entertaining @ best. S.Meyer gets better in her writings as one approaches her lost in the series-Breaking Dawn. I didn't think much if the 1st two. 2 predictable, too much repetitions of marble this and that, too adjectival as in "soft, Cold, etc." A versatile writer avoids use of same words, motifs, again and again. I love Goth and horror but I guess the use of teens as main characters did limit Meyer greatly. I have read better ones for sure.

I agree about lyndsay Sands. She balances out great story line with humor, actions, and reality, it's a great combination. I am hooked on Lara Adrian's Midnight Breeds series now, so intense!
