Reading is one of my passions! I always have one in my hand and a stack waiting to be read. One of my favorite pastimes is to browse in a book store for hours. I like a variety of book types - mystery, contemporary fiction, Christian fiction, biographies, medical drama, women's fiction. Plus I love to read children's books to my grandsons. ... more »

I just bought The Time Traveler's Wife on Ebay for $11 total. You can borrow it if you want to. I couldn't catch it in my library so I just bought it. Hopefully it's good. If not, I will give it to the book house.

I don't have Andrews' new book yet - My mom told me it was out so I put it on my wish list so I wouldn't forget. I'm anxious to see what you think of it. I have read all of hers (altho none of her mysteries) and have enjoyed them all. Deep Dish wasn't her best work, in my humble opinion, but I did enjoy it. I started a book by Debbie McComber (I don't remember what it was tho) and set it down. I've loaned it out and will probably try it again when it comes back. Currently reading Devil in the Junior League which is reminiscent of Andrew's Little Bitty Lies. I'm enjoying it! Hope you had a great weekend!

Hi and thank you for your invitation. My Avatar is my sweet Peg (named after Peggy Lee from Lady and the Tramp) since she was quite a mess when she wandered up to my door one new years eve at the stroke of midnight a few years ago. Filthy and frightened (her, not me) I took her in and fell in love immediately. My husband and son call her "The Diva" now. She rounds out my collection of 3 cats and 2 other dogs (pound puppies who are much too old to be called puppies anymore!) I, too, could spend hours browsing in a book store. I look forward to getting to know you and chatting about our reading!

Hi Gamma, Glad to make your acquaintance! Looking forward to chatting about books and getting to know you! I hail from the capital city, Raleigh. We have 3 cocker spaniels - all rescues and all adorable. I have an older sister who is retired that keeps me covered up in books. I love to read, though I don't get to read as much as I'd like. I usually have some type of craft project going on and I love to container garden. Talk to you later! Marty

Have you read The Art of Racing the Rain? I think it's a story told from the perspective of a dog. I didn't see it on your shelf but I put it on mine. Maybe I will get to it soon. I am really enjoying the Kingsbury series I am reading right now!

WOW how nice to meet another Alabamian on Shelfari. I was born and raised in southwest Alabama in Marengo Co but moved to Birmingham in 1980. Are you close to Dothan?
