I am a married 20-something and I live in a small town with my wonderful husband and our two cats. I work in higher education, and hold a Masters in Business Administration. I have loved reading since my first book ("I Teach My Dog 100 Words"); in fact, when I was younger the librarians at our local library used to admonish me to leave some... more »

Hello, Katy. I can appreciate how you feel about not being able to read the books you wish. I am an older dad and grandpa, and one of the choicest pleasures is see that our 15 month old grandson loves books. Believe me, I will nurture that desire in him; but I sometimes have to compete when he wants to enjoy the Muppets season episodes. Keep the faith, Katie, let your desire prevail for reading. It is refreshing to know others feel as you and I do in our reading!

Hi. I am cleaning out my friends as I have had so many problems with my computer lately--my internet has been down for a week and problematic for at least two months. I have decided to cut out friends--even some I would like to keep. We don't seem to exchange many notes anyway but I would like to consider taking you on again in a few weeks as we have musical interests as well as reading. But I need to take you off for now. If you like re-contact me in two or so weeks and maybe we can go again. A lot of people on shelfari never send messages to me.

So sorry to drop you. Mary O

Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!

oh, stress, what's that, oh yeah, it's the stuff that causes your blood pressure to rise, and blood glucose to go out of wack, etc. actuall, classes aren't too bad, the world lit class is interestiing, and the geography class, violent weather, is just fascinating. i wish i could do more math, because some of that class requires it, and i don't have any math higher than algebra 2, and i can't even remember any of that!!

School is keeping me busy. I sort of wish I had thought through all the extra classes I would need when switching from a BA to a BS degree... but live and learn and I do love parts of what I'm studying. It my brain would only click with Physics I would feel much better this semester. Are you studying economics for your MBA?

I find time to read before bed, and then I read too late and end up with not enough sleep. I also have been posting reviews from last months books that I didn't get reviews written for. I also read a little in the morning. I've found it I get ready too soon before I have to head out for a class, I get fidgety, so I think I like rushing a little and just making it out in time to catch my train so I can get to classes on time. I'm looking forward to the weekend when I can read a little more then I do during the week.

Thank you for the well wishes, I hope the term turns out being good too.

    Katy,

Have put in for your friendship--you sound like me. At five I could read all the scariest fairy tales--the adult level ones, not the Disney, though I liked them, too. My kindergarten teacher used to call me to her desk when we were resting and ask me to read from her book and tell her what it said. I remember always understanding it and doing extremely well. My first three and a half of grade schools--yes, the nuns too--never were my skiils as appreciated as they were in kindergarten!
