I've been teaching at a university for a number of years and try to read casually, but it is hard as much of my work involves reading textbooks and preparing lectures. There's a renewed interest in reading that comes with the Kindle, makes tracking books easier. I've have a special interest in global health, have been to 1) Kitwe, Zambia 2) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and 3) Banjul, The Gambia in recent years. My colleagues and I have published a few health science journal articles on agricultural safety and health. I've also have some writing in the area of worker health and gerontology. Currently studying workers in developing countries, migrant farm workers, and injuries in minority workers in meatpacking plants. The types of books I enjoy reading focus on spiritual growth as a Christian, but I also enjoy the escape of a good novel on occasion. I have a deep respect for all viewpoints, have worked with people of other religions, and I am fairly approachable by students (don't think I scare too many people off). This is a great place to enter books, manage and track progress, and share ideas with others!
