I liked The Help very much. I think her characterizations were probably pretty close to reality (although I have read some reviews by southern women who did not think so even though the author is southern). It held my interest all the way through. Kathy actually suggested this book for book club once but I guess it was nixed.
Have you read any Christopher Moore? I just started A Dirty Job. He writes macabre humor. I think you'd like him!
You'll see some bad books on the list soon. I'm on a weeding mission - too many books! I have tossed lots of junk without reading too. I have the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo and almost started it today. I need to do a little more read and toss (or skim and toss - I don't put those on Shelfari).I'm impressed that you entertained an author! I couldn't read a Red Sox mystery so I'm glad you all enjoyed it.

Hi Maureen -Everyone has jumped on the bandwagon! You are really a well-read group. Especially Patty - wow!Keep it up. Read Snuff if you like Chuck P's books. It's not quite as disturbing as his usual despite the subject matter.
