Exactly, you have said what I like about books, being part of it. :) Fight Club is my favorite movie but i have not read the book yet but I will. Books never fails me unlike some movies.

With fiction books I am very particular to those books that can play with my mind, bring me to other worlds or places and shows me different culture. I am a traveler by mind. I would say I love the book if it reaches my deep thoughts and feelings. Words or sentences you don't really say out load. These kind of books I call weird but actually they are the books brave enough to tell the stories in more truthful way.

However, some fictions I find boring, there are those better to watch in movies than to consume time to be read. :)

The first murakami book I read was "hard boiled wonderland and the end of the world" cant stop reading murakami ever since so I recommend you this book. :)" Kafka on the shore" is really good, I enjoyed "dance dance dance" as well. Some of Murakami's book can be erotic like "Norwegian wood".

I like Murakami for his sense of weirdness, very common for Jap authors.. its like manga and animae..

What type of books do you like?

I am starting Life of Pi and getting the hang of the story. :)

Wind up Bird chronicle for me is really good but its really weird, Murakami used a lot of metaphoric elements that leaves your mind bug, seems like you cannot follow the plot since it changes a lot..its a hard book to read, I may say. I love it for the sense that It really left me thinking of what really happened to his wife....

Have you read any other Murakami book? I love Murakami books! Cheers!
