Eh, I skimmed it. Interesting parts but I wouldn't have been able to get through the whole thing, reading at a normal pace. I've decided I like his fiction better. :)

This shelf is for all of the fun stuff I read. I love finishing a book and coming in to update my shelf. I also have a LibraryThing shelf.

I LOVE Repairman Jack! Have you read Andrew Vachs, not exactly the same but I love both authors :)

Thanks for the oh-so-subtle nudge, my friend...

    Hi Janie,
Pride of Baghdad was not a favorite. I have the copy that I bought and I'll donate it as soon as I write my critique. The illustrations are beautiful, but I found the story a bit contrived. A great idea but I didn't feel that the story was executed very well. Wayne started to read it and said, "this is stupid" and handed it back to me.

Don't forget to sign up to pick one of this month's authors over at Author, Author. Check out who we're reading this month, and help us pick for next month. Just find the discussion titled "Sign up to choose February's author" and put your name in the hat by tomorrow (Saturday) evening.

Child has about 13 in the series out there. I have the 2nd one on my TBR pile. More than 2/3 of the way through on Killing Floor.

I haven't read any others in the series. How are you liking child's other books in the series? Do they hold up to the first one?

Hi Janie P. I'm from the Author Author group and wanted to welcome you to our forum. October’s featured author is Kazuo Ishiguro, and we have two alternate authors, Philip K. Dick and Kurt Vonnegut. If you're interested, you can choose a book written by any (or all!) of these three authors, and after you've read it, please come post a review and star rating so the rest of us in the group know what you read and whether you liked it or not. Happy Reading!

I am enjoying Killing Floor as well. I'm planning on continuing to follow Jack Reacher beyond this book.

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die, join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (BOTM) or you can debate the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in the choosing of BOTM and the discussions. The current books are pinned to the top for that month. There are older discussions that can be found by searching discussions. If there is any way the group administrator can help further feel free to ask one of us. If you don’t own the book the list can be found at the top in the group description or at http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845. A downloadable list of the second edition is available at http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?page_id=160.
