I have yet to read that one, but I do have a lot of his other novels, most of his books deal with ordinary people in extreme situations.
To be honest most of his books are pretty far out there when it comes to subject matter, some are are kind of tough to get into.I just finished " His Fathers Son" really did not care for it too much. sometimes he is hit or miss, but the good books out way the bad.

Thanks for adding me to your friends list,
    Robert

Why thanks for asking, ma'am :)

Yep it's just a paperback. That's so cool that you looked it up. If I ever get to do hard cover I'll let you know.

Hope you're having a great week too. Maybe it's a little dryer in your area. We've been getting lots of rain in DFW.

I would suggest either "the league of Night and Fog "or "the fraternity of the stone" by David Morrell.
Both Laymon and Smith write some really hardcore Horror novels, pretty graphic stuff. but if your interested I would start with Laymons "Travelling Vampire Show"or Smith's "House of Blood".
Have you read "Crusader Gold" by David Gibbins or " The Last Templar" by Raymond khoury, they are a lot like 'Knights of the Black and White" by Jack Whyte ?

I see you have " Seize the Night" by Dean Koontz as a favorite, this is without a doubt one of mine as well, Christopher Snow is such a great Character, I only wish Dean would continue with more stories, like he has with Odd Thomas.

I've got friends in Paris. That's such a pretty area. And thanks for the interest in the book. Really, the best way to get it is by ordering it off Amazon. I'm out of stock myself right now, or I'd offer to send you one. When I get some in, tho, I'll let you know.

Thanks for writing back. It's so cool to meet other people who enjoy reading the same things. I'll warn ya--I can geek out pretty quick when talking books. Hahaha

Hi Frenchy. Thanks for the note, and friend request – accepted :-) I do have second-hand hardback of Gerald’s Game sitting on my shelf, along with all his other books (half of which are unread), but this one doesn’t really seem to appeal to me too much - it’s not one that I’ve feel compelled to read anytime soon..and it seems the general feeling is that it’s not one of his best. I can see where you’re coming from with the topic of the book..the one thing that does appeal to me is that it seems the book is just about 1 character and her thoughts..so I wondered how that would play out. So ya, it’s on the bottom of the pile right now. Though I haven’t read a King novel that I didn’t enjoy (only some of his short stories didn’t do it for me).
Oh, I’m not one for re-reading books as yet..I think re-reading a book obviously requires a lot more time than watching a favourite movie again, so it’s not something I’ve done (expect Lord of the Rings)..and I usually think that if I have time to read a book I would prefer to read something new and experience a new story. If I had more time then I’m sure I’d read them again..and I have kept all my books, so I guess that means I must plan to read again – or that I am a hoarder, hehe (ok, it’s the latter). I guess you’re quite a Stephen King fan too.
And thanks for recommending Dean Koontz... I’ve very recently discovered him too :-) I had vaguely heard about him before – I think he was mentioned in one of Kings novels (not sure) but I didn’t know if it was in a good way or a bad way..so I’d always been a little curious. Anyway..I recently decided to try him out...I bought “Life Expectancy”..wow – I loved it immediately. His writing style reminded me very much of King, only there was a stronger sense of humour. It really drew me in, even though the story situations were not really believable (the lead characters were joking with and teasing the bank robber who looked like he would kill them etc) it held my attention wonderfully. As I said, especially the humour there was perfectly done. It’s still the only book of his that I’ve read but I loved it so much that I’ve already bought another 8 or so books of his. I bought Odd Hours, and afterwards discovered it was book 4 of a series..arghh..but the next week I found book 1-3 in a set at a bargain price – so lucky! Also picked up a some of the other books of his. I quite fancy the one called “Taken” or something..about end of the world? I liked The Stand by king so I’m hoping it’s similar.
Also hoping that Koontz’s other books will have the humour in them that Life Expectancy has..but I don’t mind if not as his writing style seems to be so similar to King :-)
    Thanks again!
