Lately I have been CONSUMED with the need to read anything and everything with vampires! I started out reading Nora Roberts (love her-she's like the godmother of romance) and then I moved on to Lisa Kleypas (my favorite so far is Again the Magic). Somehow I found myself in Lora Leigh's Breed territory and I'm reading those as she's putting them... more »

It was not a hassle, I just wanted to send you the note. I have not read any of Armstrong's other books. They are on my mental "to read" list, but I just don't have time for everything.

I can tell you that Kelley Armstrong is very popular at our library. Have fun with whatever you read.

Shelfari does not always play nicely with me. I was trying to send you a note about Bitten. I really liked this book. I thought Armstrong did a good job portraying life as a werewolf. Notice I said werewolf. This novel will not feed your vampire habit. However, it will keep you in suspense and will make you want to finish the book as soon as possible. You should try it.

Oh i tried to reply to your question about the sookie stackhouse novels/southern vamprire mysteries, but it messed up. =/ ANYWAY, they are absolutely fabulous and if you're on a vampire kick, you should definitely check them out!! If you've heard of "trueblood", that show is based on the sookie stackhouse books so you should go watch some of the show and see what you think! The show/book relationship is one of the rare ones where you can love both of them at the same time!! haha. I devoured the books (9 of them in like, 10 days) and then the 2nd season came out and i am HOOKED! Anyway, if you have any questions about the series, i can answer them! =)

If you like humor, hot & steamy romance/loving, smart & sassy women & paranormals...ayup Aisling Grey is the one for you. There is also a parallel series...the Sliver Dragons....they are intertwined.

So glad to be of service!! Anytime you want to further expand your TBR, just take a look at my shelf. I like to think of my own TBR as morbidly obeses, so you'll def always be able to find something new on there to add to your own shelf.

I personally think you have to read the Sookie Stackhouse series starting with book one and go straight through. I thought the first two books were slow, just a lot of background information and getting to know the characters. About the third book is where they really gained some momentum. The Anita Blake series is a little different. Anita's character really grows with the books, her character changes and evolves. Most book series the character evolves a bit but really stays true to them self. The difference with AB is that some of her traits remain but much more of her character is changing and growing.

Hamilton's books are much more intense and also much darker than the Sookie books. The Sookie series doesn't take itself too seriously and there is a lot of humor in the books, which I love. I would often be laughing out loud while reading them. Hamilton is probably nearer to Anne Rice's vampires in that they take themselves very seriously. Hamilton is way more gruesome than Rice, though. Hope that helps!!

Since you're loving the Vamps right now, I must suggest you read Lara Adrian's Midnight Warrior/Breed series. It's in fierce competition with JR Ward's BDB books.

I was like you at first and had to get my hands on everything vamp. But once I started branching out into other species, I couldn't get enough of ALL OF IT!! So, I also suggest Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalkers, Larissa Ione's Demonica series and Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series.

    Happy Reading!
