Sorry for the VERY late response! I left town last Saturday and am currently in Petersburg, VA on a little history trip with my dad, so I haven't had a chance to check e-mail. No worries--we'll just do lunch when you get back from your vacation. [br/][br/]As for Graceling, I didn't like it as much as Hunger Games--or maybe I should say, I liked it in a different way and not until the last quarter of the book. All Katsa's decisions at the end, the relationship between her and Po (vs. say a Bella and Edward) was so refreshing, that I found I loved it by the end. We'll have to talk about it when we finally have lunch :)[br/][br/]On a more important note, I just finished The Poisonwood Bible on Amy (and my mother's) recommendation, and it was, without a doubt, one of the best books I've ever read. In fact, I was reading the last couple of chapters in the hotel room tonight and had to disappear into the bathroom so that my dad wouldn't see me tearing up. Have you read it? [br/][br/]Okay, I'd better get to sleep--big tour day at Petersburg battlefield tomorrow, and it's going to be 100 degrees. Ugh! [br/][br/]K[br/][br/]P.S. I'm soooo excited that you like Assassination Vacation! That's my favorite of Vowell's (and one of my other favorite books ever), but everyone I've recommended it to hasn't like it nearly as much as her essays.
So when are we doing lunch? :)
Btw, I just finished 'Graceling' and LOVED it! Have you read 'Fire'? And I noticed you had 'Leviathan' on your list as well--how was that?
