It comes to a new chapter in my life, so I delete all my reviews as they are only a shadow of what I am and think now. In some cases they are much too critical and others not enough. Life has a way of changing your perspective. All future reviews will reflect this perspective… if I choose to write them.

I will dig deeper inside of me... more »

I think that's awesome. I hope it goes well for you!

I think I've read a total of 8 books so far this year. It's super disappointing. I pretty much only sleep at my place though. I've been so busy since starting work and moving and what not. Definitely a busy year. Glad all is well with you. :)

Have you gotten Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews yet? I am going to try to go either today or tomorrow to get it. How have you been? It's been a long time. We need to catch up. :)

Lydia posted her CoMC post. Just wanted to let you know. I hope to read it this week.

Oh I think Lydia may take some time to get back to CoMC. Her apartment flooded badly--she tweeted that. Feel so bad for her. OK 2011...it's time to be a little nicer! LOL!

Oh, oh...I just read your review of Wicked Lovely and I have to say that Ink Exchange was a lot better. There were moments in it that were just deep and the subject matter at times is pretty heavy (you know...when all that fairy stuff isn't going on). Wicked Lovely was just ok, but Ink Exchange definitely got better. I would give that one a try if you weren't too turned off by the first book. It's not great literature by any means, but I like the way she dealt with the emotions of someone who has come from terrible abuse. That part of it was really well written.

Yeah, I finally did post my reviews. I've been so bad about updating stuff lately. Don't worry. My reading timeline says, "You have read 2 books this year." I am looking for a job a lot of the time and for some reason I keep getting sick so between those two things I haven't been reading as much as I would like. I've been watching a lot of TV too to keep my mind off of things. I'm on Season 3 of Eureka. It's a super fun show. You guys should watch it! It's an Instant Watch on Netflix if you have it. I also watched all of MI-5 (except for this last season which isn't on Instant Watch yet) which I enjoyed.

Lydia is going to continue with CoMC. I just asked her about it on her blog. She said she read a chapter yesterday. I'm wanting to get back to it. I was really liking it. Dumas is nice and escapist! How have you been otherwise? Is your 2011 going better than 2010 so far? I hope so! I hope 2011 is better for everyone!

I remember thinking that your comment was justified and was written in a respectful way :) If there is one thing I wish for on the internet it is just that - a little more consideration for the people at the other end of a message.

I'm looking forward to start reading Moon Called again... I just got it from the library. Too many crappy ya vampire novels lately are getting on my nerves :P

    Thanks for the recommendations!
Everybody's reading the Sookie Stackhouse series, I have to look into those soon. As for the Mercy Thompson Series, I started reading Moon Called twice, but didn't get into it right away and eventually abandoned it... I'll have to try again (third time the charm and all that). The Kate Daniels series looks interesting, I've added it to my list.

I've been reading some of your reviews already. It's nice to read reviews which contain depth and reflection as opposed to the sometimes very emotionally driven ("I wanted so and so to happen and now I hate the author for not making it that way") reviews. Actually I added you because of your reply to one of the Mockingjay reviews... You had some great insight there. Mockingjay was a great example (I think) of a young adult book which dared to stray from the must-have-happy-ending formula that a lot of ya books seem to stick to. Yay for books that make you feel, and believe in the characters. More of those, please :)

    Hi:
I am a new author and I have posted three books on Amazon Kindle, Smashwords, B&N, etc., and would be delighted if you would add one or more of my books to your TBR list. If you could also write a review, that would be super.

The titles and links for the books are as follows:
The Ghost Of A Flea - A romantic murder mystery set in NYC
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003WQBD96
Quarantine – A sci-fi thriller set in East Africa
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZSHNUO
The Watcher – An occult thriller set in New England
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043GX1C6

Thank you for taking the time to consider my request.
    Have a great day.

Let our lives be ones of existence beyond restrictions where light and spirit guide us to gardens of bliss and beauty where ours is a shared enlightenment. If we live in communion and union we grow from bud to flower and experience a lighter way of being. Harmonize your energy flow and sew within the fabric of your dreams a blanket of joyful serenity. The time is now for a revolution of mind and spirit.

I finally commented on Chapters 16-20 of Count of Monte Cristo. I'm really liking it so far. I'm a little sad that Lydia is not as much. Maybe I'm just in need of the escape. Dumas is great for escape which is maybe why I'm such a fan. :)

Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. It's my favorite book of all time. I know...the ending is so good. His writing was so good that I actually was sitting there going, "This isn't really fiction." Really..I really did sit there and think that for several minutes after I finished despite the weird tree island and stuff. Then I realized my craziness and decided it was my favorite book of all-time. :D

It was kind of slow in the beginning...I agree. Yay! You liked it!

Yeah :/ the fact that even her mind isn't her own bothered me too. I dunno, like I said, I think Briggs finds this romantic and okay...I don't really see it as a relationship she spent five books building to correct, you know? But we'll see. I'm curious enough to see where it goes to keep reading.

I really only gave the book 3.5 of 5 stars. I think over time that rating might go up. it was one of those. I thought it was steampunk too until I read it. I had read somewhere that it was steampunk. I don't really think it is after having read it.

The Windup Girl is VERY loosely steampunk if at all. It was way more biopunk. The only thing steampunky about it was that there were dirigibles in it. :P

I would wait if you are in a quick reading mood. Many people have said it's not a quick read so it's not just me. Maybe get it some other time. I think you would enjoy it though. It's one of those books that I think is up your alley. :)

Haha, awesome :D Wicked Lovely was a pleasant surprise, I hope you like it!

Haha yeah, I remember thinking, wow, the most independent thing she gets to do in this one is pick which guy she's bound to, lol. True, Mercy did a good ob this turn of making sure everyone was safe. I loved the scenes between her and the little boy :)
