Thanks for joining the Mystery & Suspense group! Tell us something about you in the Introduce Yourself discussion topic and who are some of your favorite authors in this genre.
Our current books for group discussion are In the Woods by Tana French and Iron Lake by William Kent Krueger. Our next books for discussion are Killing the Shadows by Val McDermid and Cocaine Blues by Kerry Greenwood. Discussion topics will be posted on and after November 23.
Lastly, we feature authors each week, proving background info along with their bibliographies. Be sure to check out the author of the week recommendations section and add any you'd like to see included. The administrators of the group based on the book 1001 BOOKS YOU MUST READ BEFORE YOU DIE welcome you.
Our group reading is based off a specific list of books that can be found at the top of the group description. We encourage you to explore the group and check out the various opportunities. You can introduce yourself at the Welcome Mat and the Directory will guide you to various links within the group.
The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss
Fatelessness by Imre Kertész
For October, November and December, we are reading Haruki Murakami's 1Q84.
The discussion threads are pinned to the top. Please join one or all of these group reads. Also check out The 2013 Challenge.
I like to follow people who read similar stuff for two reasons. One is (guilty as charged, to promote my work!) Secondly is it is really useful to see what people are reading and what I might to read from things they have reviewed and rated. The more people you follow, the more book reccomendations you get and it helps me pick my next read!
Hope you dont mind.
Can you reccommend and good fiction on the mystery / more unusual genre?
Very best wishes
I hope you are well.
I notice from your reviews that you enjoyed the Hunger Games Catching Fire. I have to agree with you - it's a great book!
I’m searching for someone like you who appreciates original fiction and might be interested in trying out my novel "The DEAD LOOP". It is a psychological thriller mystery about a man that dies every single day but has no idea why.
Shelfari readers say:
It is a book I found very difficult to put down.
One of the most unique and original story plots that I have read in quite a long time.
Best thing I’ve read since hunger games.
The book on Kindle is very low cost. It is also available on most formats such as Nook, Kobo and Apple.
If it intrigues you at all and you want to check it out, I would very much appreciate any feedback.
Very best wishes,
Complete Trilogy edition
