HI, Musical Chairs is a favorite of yours. I think I will check it out. What are you reading now?
thank you :)
i have a really diverse taste in books lol
Thanks for the recommendation! It sounds great, I just need to get my hands on a copy. How can the Columbus Met Library not have a book by a Columbus native???
As for you, I don't see Love Is a Mix Tape in the books you have read. If you haven't read it, definitely get it!
Judy, another books I'd recommend is Geraldsin Brooks People of the Book. I am so involved in reading books now but this one is intriguing. It is about an Australian rare books expert hired to analyze and conserve an early Jewish work. Brooks won a Pulitzer Prize for her book March. Cheryl
Thanks for the book recommendation! Not sure how to do one here, but I would suggest Nick Hornby for contemporary Fiction. My fav of his is "About a Boy". I also loved "The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahiri. Hope that helps!
You might like Let the Great World Spin. I'm only part way into it but it seems to read well.
Just received word that the illustrations for the first book in my children's book series The Calico Pony are complete. It will be advertised in Publishers Weekly.
Also, thanks for your note about the book group. Cheryl A.
Hi Judy,
I just wanted to pop by and welcome you to Book Chat. We have a great group of people so feel free to join in our discussions or start your own.
Happy Reading!
Lorin
We both liked Water for Elephants. I'm waiting for Galway Bay through interlibrary loan. I see you are in the I Love Reading Challenge Group. Do you recommend it?
Hi Judy, welcome to the I Love Reading Challenges group. If you have any questions we have an "I Have a Question" thread. Feel free to post any new reading challenges you find in the 2010 challenges thread. You may also start a discussion thread for it if you want. I am glad you joined and I am looking forward to reading with you.
Hi Judy, thanks for the friend request =) what are you enjoying right now?
Welcome to the group based on the book 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. There is a general explanation of the group under the discussion thread GROUP GUIDELINES. The books of the month (BOTM) that the group is reading are pinned to the top. I hope you will enjoy the group and perhaps join in one or more of the monthly reads. Our March books have been chosen and they are #1 is The Unfortunate Traveller by Thomas Nashe This book was first published in 1594 and can be found in the public domain. # 2 is Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, #3 would be Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky. We will start choosing April’s book about mid March.
