“A terrific spin on the wallcrawler. Set during the depression in 1933, Peter Parker is bitten by an exotic, poisonous (and possibly magical) spider, and is given the ability to fight injustice in New York. To quote Stan Lee "...with more twists and turns than you can shake a web at..." Spider-Man...”

“A terrific spin on the wallcrawler. Set during the depression in 1933, Peter Parker is bitten by an exotic, poisonous (and possibly magical) spider, and is given the ability to fight injustice in New York. To quote Stan Lee "...with more twists and turns than you can shake a web at..." Spider-Man Noir is very fun, and flashes back to the pulp comics of the era in which it is set. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it was a limited series, and only has 4 issues. It wasn't cancelled, it was designed that way. I would love to read more. Luckily, Marvel has a whole line of Noir comics, including Luke Cage, Daredevil and The Punisher. Time to start looking.”

“I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This has easily become one of my favourite reads of all time. CJ Box has this ability to just keep the reader in suspense, making one want to blast through the book to see what happens. And yet, I wanted to take my time to savour it. I almost got paper-cuts from the speed at which I was flipping the pages, I wanted so badly to see what was coming next. For those who like police thrillers, with a majorly flawed main character, this is one for you. Cody Hoyt may be flawed, but you can't help but become attached to him. Fantastic, fantastic book.”
