Yeyyyyyy...group activities!!! I'll start a discussion if you start one!I know, isn't that amazing about Sweden's sun? And think about it...it's the exact opposite in the winter time :( I heard once that they have the highest suicide rate in the winter. So if you visit, definitely go in summer...lol! OK, I'm starting a discussion!!!!!
I first went when I was 17. My parents paid for the trip and I went with a group of teens, none of whom I knew. They knew each other so I was the odd person out. But I still loved Europe. My second trip was with my husband when I was 24. We went to Sweden and Denmark then. He had business and I went along for the fun of it.
Hi Yaar,I'll have to get my hands on those books. I actually love adult content, if it's not too weird...haha. My fave book series right now is the Stieg Larrson trilogy and it's got some very tough stuff in it, but I make my way through. Tough like details of people getting beaten up and in his first book there was some really gross sex abuse. Actually that part was hard for me to stomach. Luckily it was only a part of the book.Europe...I LOVED IT!!!! I want to go back. I dream about moving there alot. It's so much fun to go somewhere so different from what you know. Then, when you get to know the people, you realize that we are really one big family and it's ridiculous for people to be so nationalistic and think their country is the best. Why not appreciate the differences and love each other? That's what I learned being in Europe. Sweden and Denmark have a different feel too. You can definitely tell that you're in Scandinavia as opposed to Europe. Actually, Denmark has a more european feeling than Sweden. I was there during a summer and it's really cool because the sun set at about 11pm and it rose at 2am. Isn't that cool? It really was. People just didn't go to bed until like midnight or after. It was so much fun and so different.I really loved France. And the United Kingdom is great too, especially since I don't struggle with the language barrier there. I want to go to Italy. I want to learn some Italian first. I bet you'll go. Is it terribly expensive for you to fly there? I guess if you took a train it would take forever! Plus you'd have to go through, what, Pakistan? That's kind of a dangerous place right now.
Sorry you couldn't go, but it sounds as if it was a good thing. You'll just have to hang out and read more books. lol! You've read so many Sydney Sheldon's. What do you like about him as an author? I havent' read any of his books, but he sure is famous.I just finished The Girl who Played with Fire. It was sooooooooo good. There's a third book in the series, but it's not out in the US yet. I wish I could travel to Europe to get it!!!!
Ugh, I know. The burrow burning....what was up with that? It just sooooo didn't fit.Yeye for vacations! Enjoy yourself.Woohoo!
Oh ya, and I can't wait to see what you think of City of Bones. I read that one. There were things I liked and things I didn't so I didn't read the second book. But if you really like it, I'll pick up the next one from the library.
I do love cats. I'm just not skilled in finding good pics online. I don't really know what would represent me well, so I always go with cats...haha.I think you will like the movie, sorry I came down so hard on it. It's just that I know a better job could have been done. Sometimes I feel that way about the Harry Potter movies as well. Some are well done, some I think are terrible. And the stories are so good that I wish they'd do the movies just as well too.I look forward to talking with you when you get back. Enjoy your trip!
Oh, and Alice is GREAT...of course. She pretty much makes the movie for me.
Heeeyyyy, you changed your pic again! Niice!OK, I saw it! I wish I could say something nice, but I can't. If you're a big fan of Twilight, which you are, you will probably like it. I'm a fan, but not as much as some other pple's. The acting is exactly the same as the first movie. It's terribly (and I mean TERRIBLY) written. Whoever wrote the screenplay should quit the business...they are really bad. It was really chunky, like she just took a chunk from the book and threw it on the screen, then she went and took another chunk from the book and threw it up there. There was no continuity. At one point, Bella learns that Jake and his friends turn into werewolves, then the next scene, she's totally ok with it and she's hugging an almost naked Jake in her bedroom. I'm like...what?!!!! AND, they messed with the ending...ugh!!! Jane is a joke!I'm not feeling the love between Edward and Bella. It's like they could take it or leave it. They're just not that important to each other. Overall, the whole movie seemed like a long, long soap opera. Do you have those in India? Well, they're terrible over here. It's such a bummer, cause New Moon was my favorite book of the four.Go see it anyway. You'll probably find things you like about it.
These are great ideas. I say go for it. Start now and then we can invite friends to our group.I might go to see it today. I hurt my back and have been lying around for the last few days. But I think I can manage to sit in a seat for a couple of hours. I'll let you know.
Soooo, when you're done with your studies/exams, let's discuss what to do with our group!!!!
I love long beaches!!! They are so beautiful! And I love hiking.
I'll look up where it is. It sounds so exotic!
Hi Back, Yaar!!You are sooooooooo lucky with your family. I hear about big close knit families like yours and I've always envied them. In the US, there are a lot of what we call "nuclear families", which means that parents live on their own without grandparents, aunts uncles. Then the kids of that family move far away when they're adults. So it's a small family. That's what my family is like. Now, the immigrants from other countries tend to have big families who live close together as well. I've always been envious of that. But I've never had it. Now, I suppose if you didn't get along with your family, that would be terrible. lol. So, I think you are very lucky to have the family you have. How cool that you have an uncle living on a peak in the Himalayas. That's amazing!!! And that your sister and cousin are your best friends. My everyday schedule is dependent on how much work I have. Somedays, I have many massages and I spend the day traveling to people's homes or to the business where I give massages. Other days, I don't have many massages to do, then I exercise and run errands. Every once in a while I get together with friends and go to San Diego or somewhere else fun. We have a nature preserve close to my home and I hike up there sometimes. In Southern California, empty space is hard to come by. There are so many people and businesses down here that the empty land is rapidly being filled with homes and businesses. So it's always a treat to go out into nature for a hike.
Hi Chica,I just got back home. I'm beyond tired. I'm hoping to go see New Moon tomorrow, so I'll let you know. I'm really glad the movies are coming to India soon....YEY!!!!Let me know about your new book. I just finished Hush Hush. I didn't like how it ended, but it will be a sequel so maybe the next one will help out this one's ending. It's definitely like Twilight, kind of a mix between twilight and Evermore...have you read?I hope you enjoy your time off and your Grandma! My Dad comes down in a month for Christmas. We always have fun then. I just got my new massage license which will allow me to work at new jobs. So I'm going to quit my current job next week...YEY and start working where I want to work. I'm very happy!!!My trip was really hard. I'm so glad it's over. There's some weird things I had to deal with. For the most part people weren't mean to me, but well, if you ever think you have a weird family, I can just about guarantee my family is weirder....so take heart! haha.
I loved Slumdog Millionaire. I kept singing the songs for months. Of the singers you mentioned, I like some ABBA, Bryan Adams, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna and of course Beyonce. I think she's got like a perfect voice.I think Garden State was a small film in the US, so I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it. Some of their songs might be on youtube.com I'm not sure.I started reading Hush Hush yesterday. I really like it so far. It's about fallen angels and it's a lot like Twilight. What are you reading right now, or are you just studying? How long is your break after your exams...do you get a month off or more? Do you have any holidays during that time that you celebrate?
I'm really really bad about music. I get so busy with other things that I don't listen to new stuff. So I got really hooked on The Killers cd Hot Fuss. Then I listened to it over and over. But basically I like just about every type of music other than Country Western and Punk. I like a lot of Alternative Rock. Did you ever see the movie Garden State? The soundtrack to that movie, I like a lot of that and those types of music. I also really really like The Fray. My friend always puts me down about liking them, but I do. I like Cold Play too. How about you?
Wow an international movie channel...cool! We have something called IFC International Film Channel. They play some interesting movies sometimes. But I don't get all those movie channels you get.You reminded me about an Iranian movie i saw, Persepolis. Did you see it? It was an animated movie about a girl growing up in the Iranian Revolution. It was very tragic but very good. Also, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, have you seen that? It's a hot new book and also a movie. Again a very hard movie to watch, but so so good.Julia Roberts is amazing, like one of the best actors of our time, I think. And I agree about Kristin playing Bella. I hate the way she like, just stands there with a blank face. Remember that one scene in Biology class where she's looking at Edward and she like licks her tongue out of her mouth like she's air french kissing him? OMG...what a dork! Talyor and Ashley are really good. Also the guy who plays Emmett fits the role perfectly I think. Edward (Robert) can't act and is kind of ugly. I mean, sometimes he can look ok, but then, he'll turn around and look really strange. I also think he doesn't play the part right. I wish he was more loving. I always thought Edward was really loving towards Bella, but I don't see that in the movie. One of my guy friends said that the Twilight series has made it impossible for guys now, because Edward is the perfect boyfriend and now every woman wants an "Edward"...lol I think that's so funny.
Hi Saradha, How are the exams going?I am on my trip.I like romantic movies (Pride and Prejudice, Under the Tuscan Sun), some thriller/espionage (like the Bourne Identity series), comedies (Night at the Museum, uuuuummmmm, my mind is a blank on the other comedies I like). What movies do you like?...This weekend....New Moon!!! I'll let you know if it's good. Did you like the first movie? I thought it was terrible. I'm really hoping New Moon is better.
Great ideas!!!!! I need to remember those...sing, dance. Ya!Maybe I should mail some of my books to you. Then you could read them!
