Rachel,Read all the books by Lisa See. You will devour her books! Enjoy.
Yes, read it. I loved it and couldn't put it down.
Time Traveller's Wife is definitely worth a read.
Hi Rachel,For some reason I couldn't respond to your question about reading The Time Traveler's Wife, so I am posting a note. I must say that The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favorite love story. It's not your typical romance, cheesy love story at all. There is bit of science fiction to it as well, hence, the time traveling part. It's hard to generalize the book, but it's an amazing story. I loved it! I think you should definitely give it a chance. Let me know what you think after you are done. :-)
Hi, my husband's family used to live in Hockessin! Small world. Yes, get a copy of Gone with the Wind from the library, and read it. It is SO much better than the movie. I've read it three times. I eventually gave in and read Scarlet, something I swore I would never do. I was really impressed how the story just seemed to fit so well with GWTW, given that it was written by a different author more than 50 years later! I have just finished Rhett Butler's People, which is also pretty good, but I think the author wimps out with Scarlet's personality towards the end. It's the same story, seen from Rhett's perspective. I think you'll enjoy all three.
Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!
I definitely think you should read The Time Time Traveler's Wife. Some people find it annoying with all the time changes, and it can get a little confusing, but aside from that it's really wonderfully amazing. I hope you enjoy!
Yes dear, Gone with the wind is a muct for anyone interested on romantic novels (or rather romantic pains)......its a period classic & I am sure anyonw who reads it will be able to relate to one or the other character of the fiction, the emotions & the hards facts of life......Its beautiful. You may find it a little boring at the start, but once you are done with the first 50-60 pages, you will be stuck to the book. I was mourning (thats an exaggeration) for the protagonist for almost a month after i read it. Read it & don send in your comments/review on the same ot me.......
You asked about The Time Traveller's Wife. I have yet to see the move, but the book was amazing. It made me cry. It took me about 50 pages to understand the time travel part of it, but it was also my first sci-fi ish type book. It is one of my favorites!
Yes its a really good read, although sometimes you do need to flick back to remind yourself of what's happened before.
You should read Shanghi Girls.
One needs patience for 'The Time Traveller's Wife" - at least to begin with . In fact the 1 st time I picked it up I found it a bit slow so I kept it back but the title kept tantalising me . It is an interesting title if one likes fantasy , magic, science fiction etc. So I finally tought to myself ' O.K. Vinnie , you better do yourself a favour - either read it or forget it ' .And that is something I can't ever ever do - forget about a book ! So I read it. And after a few pages I was hooked . It is quite a poignant tale right to the end . you also need to keep a track of the dates . They can be quite confusing at first. But perseverance is the name if you want to read it . In the end I was glad I read it . It was " different " from other books. ........Now that is quite a looooong answer for a small question . You have some really interesting and varied books on your shelf . Add this too as "read "
If you love romantic novels entwined with historical fiction set during the period of the Civil War you will enjoy it.
GONE WITH THE WIND is a classic and is referenced often. One of those books it's good to be familiar with. It is also a good read.
I liked the Time Travellers Wife as I had never read anything like it before, however I wouldn't recommend the film AT ALL! I like your shelf, there are some interesting titles there. Did you enjoy the 1th Tale???
Time traveller's wife was good, not exceptional. For a Great read try A Fine Balance by R. Mystry. It is one of my very favourites, easy to read and a real eye opener too. It's one you won't soon forget.
Hey The Alchemist is a Good book if u like Poetic explanations...and also a lover of self help books..!
Time Travelers Wife was a fun read. I laughed when he ended up some place and never had clothes on.
I adored Time Travelers Wife. I like romance stories. This is a story of waiting for the ones we love. There is a bit of sci-fi mixed in as he the lead male character really does time travel.
