Right now I have been trying to read all the books that I already own but have not read yet. That is not working out all that well because working at... more »

1st let me say that I LOVE Janet Evanovich! But I have to add that her books for the most part are light and fluffy..not a deep, intellectual read. And at times, that is exactly what I want to read, like a vacation read. I do like her style, I can read her books in a couple of days. Her life is like nothing I've ever experienced, she's a Jersey girl from the burg! I would suggest reading them in order...they are numbered, but leave out any that are not in that series. After you have read 3-5 of them, you will fall in love with the characters and be drawn to read another when the mood strikes. To me they are very funny, laugh out loud funny at times. But they can be rather predictable at times and unbelievable often....but hey, it's fiction!! So give a couple a try, you'll either love them or not. Whatcha got to lose? Enjoy! :)

Well, I know how you feel about missing your family when you move. We were married 5 months and the Army sent us to Alaska!! That was about 5,000 miles from home and we didn't get back to visit once in the whole 3 yrs. we were there!!! But I do think it made our marriage stronger. Hang in there and enjoy each other and have fun exploring your new surroundings! :)

You can't join a group and then not participate in the group, silly. :) Just giving you a hard time. If I remember correctly, group members can also start conversation threads.

Awe, you should give Lord of the Flies another chance. I realized several years ago that books are completely different as an adult than they were as a kid. I have gone back and re-read several books and now I understand why we had to read them. So much better the second time around...

I hope you like it. Matt read the entire series in about 1 week. He LOVED it, to say the least. If you like Butcher's style of writing you may also like Feist. He's in Sci Fi/Fant section as well.
