I live in Surrey UK and im trying to get into reading again after I stopped when my son was a newborn. Rather than reading random books from the bookshop based on their cover Ive been trying to read books more based on peoples recomendations with a few of the classics thrown in there.

Hi Jessica, I'm Ema, also from the UK and I have just started up a group on Shelfari, but for UK members. I noticed how difficult it was to search for UK users on here and thought it would be pretty cool to have most of the UK members in one place :)
If you're interested the link is: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/49405/about

Hope to see you there xx

    The Ancient One says

A wonderful realization will be the day you realize that you are unique in all the world. There is nothing that is an accident. You are a special combination for a purpose-and don't let them tell you otherwise, even if they tell you that purpose is an illusion. (Live an illusion if you have to). You are that combination so that you can do what is essential for you to do. Don't ever believe that you have nothing to contribute. The world is an incredible unfulfilled tapestry. And only you can fulfill that tiny space that is yours.

Thanks for joining the Best English-Language Fiction of the Twentieth Century group – the name rolls right off the tongue doesn’t it…
Feel free join in with any of the discussions already on the board or start up a new one any time you like.
Again, glad you joined up and I look forward to picking at the threads with you. Please consider inviting your friends to join us as well.
    See you around the shelves.

I know this is a bit late, but hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!

That sounds great. I can't wait to read her. I'll put them both in my TBR list!

I need to try Margaret Atwood. Everyone that reads her stuff really likes it.

Welcome to Better than Starbucks! Look around, make yourself at home, start a new thread or dig up an old one or just read and jump in on the more active ones.

We are honored to be one of your first groups!
