Paul, I've selected my first reading venture in the Graphic Novel genre, namely "The Wallet of Kai Lung" by Ernest Bramah. This is the first book in the series that is credited with inspiring Jack Vance to write "Tales of the Dying Earth" which perhaps one of the sci/fi fantasy/adventure collections of stories ever written. Thanks again for leading me in this direction, I'm anxious to start reading...

Paul, thank you for the recommendation which I will be reading as soon as the Kindle eReader price comes down! My daughter was a biology major at La Verne University and went on to become a doctor. What year are you in? I think it's great that you are continuing to read for pleasure and life enrichment while carrying on your studies. Can you recommend the titles of some of your favorite "graphic novels?" Additionally, I want to recommend two classic fantasy/adventure novels by Joy Chant whose writing style is similar to Tolkien. Her epic classics are titled "The Grey Mane of Morning" and "Red Moon and Black Mountain" and both are acknowledged masterpieces. Enjoy and READ ON...

Paul, thank you for the friending and recommendations, I'll check them out. I have been thinking about putting some of my books on Amazon so thanks for reminding me. Since I purchased my Kindle 3 I'm buying fewer DTB's but still have a slew of them that aren't available in the eReader format. I'm half afraid to start another R.R. Martin series because I've been waiting 6 years for the next book in the ASOIF series...grrrrrrrrrrr! READ ON...

Also, enjoy "Tales of the Dying Earth" by Jack Vance is perhaps the quintessential collection of sci/fi fantasy/adventure stories ever written by one of the most revered and awarded authors to write in this genre. The words that come to mind when trying to describe his incredible achievement are: Wondrous, magnificent, epic, spellbinding, dazzling, exquisite, wordsmithery, magical, elegant, enthralling, engrossing, imaginative, original, mellifluous pacing, atmospheric backdrops, transformational, fantastical storylines! I read the first story in this collection when i was 11 years old and the others in the ensuing years. Over the years I have read the collection over 20 times, each time marvelling at its life changing positive impact on my addiction to reading. Just imagine being able to transform written words from your minds eye into sensual life-like visions and you will then understand the sensual impact of Jack Vance's brilliance! Ironically, because of its unique qualities I have always been protective and therefore reluctant to expose this truly fabulous experience to others for fear of diminishing its value to me...a misguided supposition I know, but true never-the-less. So, if you want to share my journey into the unknown and wander through the beautiful words penned by a master scribe then you will read this incredible collection of stories and revel in their beatific perfection. Storytelling at its best; a masterpiece...
