Another cute picture! This one is a "Christmas in Summer" snapshot, isn't it? Your photos are as interesting as your book selections.
It's so hard to pick a favorite Jodi Picoult book. I usually say that "19 Minutes" is my favorite. I also really liked "Change of Heart" and "Perfect Match". I think that so much depends on when you picked up the book. I remember really liking "Perfect Match" but it was the first Jodi Picoult book that I read so I had no expectations. Her books have a lot more to live up to now.
My toes are in the ocean (and sand) at Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii!!!
Yes, I have read that one. It was intense. I wouldn't say it was my favorite of hers, but I have yet to find a Jodi Picoult book that I don't like.Thank you so much for sending the package to our town library! The librarian was very excited to get it.
Love the picture! It is Peter, isn't it? Reminds me that I should change my photo, since it says "Merry Christmas!"
I had to pick up "The Forgotten Garden" after seeing how much the rest of you were enjoying it. I thought it was great! I saw her new book displayed at the book store today.
I love your new picture! Are you finding more time to read now? I'd guess you are just finding more time to relax more with your kids. Enjoy them! (and reading too)
Hello - you've inspired me to update my page. Hope you enjoyed tonight - I had a ball! Will get back to my books now....
I hear you! Read a page this morning that may have changed my life...Here's hoping!
Oh- and I can't wait to see your review on 'Raising Boys.' Plus, I felt exactly the way you did about 'The Poe Shadow,' but continued on to read Pearl's 'The Last Dickens' and really enjoyed it--as much as 'The Club Dumas.'
If you have "spirited children," I highly recommend you get into 'Raising Your Spirited Child.' I am just getting into it and feel lilke I can breathe more freely, like SOME of the answers might be within my grasp. And so many books on your shelf look interesting! I'm going to peruse and add to my own. You seem like an eclectic, well-read reader like myself.
I hope you enjoy "Secret Life of Bees"! As you already know, I really loved it! I'm right in the middle of my ridiculously fluffy summer reading. Pure fun!
Yes, I was so excited when "The Hour I First Believed" came out. I had been waiting 10 years for it, and so I bought it the day it was released. I thought it was brilliantly written and I could understand why it took him 10 years to create it. I also though it was really dark. It is a book that I appreciated more than enjoyed. Let me know what you think.
Cutest. Picture. Ever! And I must have just written you a note here awhile ago and then deleted it- think I decided Shelfari wasn't the appropriate place for the note. Anyway, I remember writing it! Sorry I confused you! I always love checking your shelf! You've read such great books. I'll get another e-mail out to you soon.
It inspired our trip to Baja back in 2000!
Have just logged onto Shelfari after 4 months. Unbelievable. I have just finished a book so I will update soon. Have just completed (literally) a science project with Thomas and hoping to have some 'me' time, but the kids are starting to fight. Wish you were here close by, so we could have a cuppa. xoxoxoxoxoxo
I think you would LOVE Animal Vegetable Miracle!! It may very well be my favorite nonfiction book I've read. Also Simply in Season is SO great! Karin gave me my copy and it never leaves my counter. :) Talk to you soon (or write I guess!)
Hey there, I have not heard of that book before, let me know how it is if you find it.
Yes, I love Kristin Hannah books, and I don't have that one. Thanks! I'll be glad to share "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle"--and a lot of other books too. I've never owned so many as I do right now.
I can't wait to see what you think of Outlander. I am a couple hundred pages in and loving it!
