The intro by Chris Ware was pretty interesting, enough that I read the entire thing. I used to love studying, or just zoning out on Swarte's illustrations in RAW magazine, but was a little dissatisfied with a whole book of his work. Hmph. The stories are weird and seem muddled, maybe just because of the cultural gap. I dunno. But his draftsmanship is amazing.”

“I had seen this compared to THE EXORCIST and THE BAD SEED, and that's fairly accurate. It moves along fast, and the writing is nuanced and well-crafted. It's creepy and shocking, and by the end, brutal. Leaves some unanswered questions, but a lingering sense of mysterious dread that makes it worth it.”
