I like most of them. I only put a few books on the shelf that I didn't care for. There is a certain amount of variety in the books, and each might be better for a particular mood. I'd be happy to recommend something if given criteria.If you want a very well developed self-contained fictional story, I would have to say that "The Hobbit" is the best on my shelf. Tolkien put a lot of time and effort into creating the story, the characters, and even the world, but it's not an epic like "The Lord of the Rings."
