Reading is my escape. I don t get to read as often as I like - mostly on my lunch break and a few stolen moments when I'm not chasing after my 5-year-old. I am formerly a chick-lit-only gal, but I have recently found that I love the mix of fantasy/action/romance as in the Twilight saga. I didn't see the movie when it came out - I actually only saw it a few months ago on DVD. I loved the movie and of course fell in love with the character of Edward - like most do. My boyfriend bought me the first two books and I devoured them and before I was halfway through New Moon I went out and bought the rest of the series. As I was reading Breaking Dawn I kept wondering what I was going to read next that could capture my attention (and my heart) like this series. While I give major props to Stephenie Meyer, I have to say that there are some other great books out there. Maggie Stiefvater has three great books - Shiver being the most buzzed about. I also enjoyed Hush, Hush, the House of Night series and Alyson Noel s Immortal series. I am also a big fan of Gregory Maguire's Wicked Years series and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. I have also read a few memoirs here and there. Happy reading everyone! « less
