I'll bring Earthling. I have the best of, but you've probably heard most if it already.Well my favorite band of ALL time is the Stones. The Beatles are great, but hey they broke up, right. Stones are forever. I've been following the Stereophonics now for awhile. They are a Welsh band, really good I think. I first heard them on a tribute album to the Beatles. The best rock is always British it seems.
What else have you heard from Bowie?
Why was Spitz a fool? What was he saying?I love Bowie. Not everything, but the stuff of his that I like, I just love totally. I still remember as a kid watching the Glass Spider tour on Channel 2 (yes, PBS used to be cool) and seeing him come down from this giant spider thing and thinking, "that is freakin cool". One of my favorite horror movies, Cat People, has a soundtrack from him (which was used in Inglorious Bastards oddly enough) and of course he's in The Man Who Fell To Earth which is an amazingly cool 70s esoteric artsy sci-fi film. The book is pretty good too. Bowie's sound is cool to watch change over time. His 90s stuff was kinda bashed. I remember critics wanted to crucify for Earthling and I had some issues with it, but I came to terms with it and liked it overall, loved some of it. Its been awhile since I've heard it and I don't even know if I have a copy anymore. You've inspired me to look. Thanks!
The definitive Bowie biography is David Bowie: Living on the Brink by George Tremlett. You should check that one out. I haven't read it, but many people recommend that one.
