One of the books i've been recommended myself (and just finished reading) - Luminous by Greg Egan i think you would like - it's a collection of sci fi short stories. Lots of interesting concepts involved :).House of Leaves is also pretty good, can take some time to get into tho, and the book is huge. Be prepared for lots of flicking back and forth as theres several ways of reading it :).
