"The Practice of Adaptive Leadership" - the skills we employ at the classroom, school, district and inter-district level to accomplish the transformation. By Heifetz, who also wrote "Leadership on the Line" and his student wrote, about his class, "Leadership can be Taught". A difficult, time consuming, life-changing, profound read. Absoltutely blew me away, and perfect timing for me.
Right on about "Into the Wild." One of my all time favorites too. Check out "Touching the Void." It isn't written as well, but the story has you on the edge of your seat the whole time and it goes into the wanderlust of young men too. I promise you won't be disappointed.
