There are so many good books out there, that I've gone back to the best sellers lists to find some that interest me and are supposedly well-written. I haven't had to quit a book often... I should try to recall the titles I've quit recently, but if they're that uninteresting to me, I can't remember! I'm sorry if my "reviews" of books I've read... more »

Also - regarding seeing Lovely Bones...I still haven't read the book! :( I do make a point of reading the books first, so I'll have to do that. I also am waiting for the Time Traveler's Wife to come out on DVD (I think it comes out in February??) and need to read that book as well. I think the movie looks good and have heard those that read the book, didn't like the movie and those that liked the movie, didn't like the book....who knows?!

I think it's impossible for film to truly capture a novel well.

    Hi Karen,

I finished The Gatecrasher...kind of a strange story, but was a quick read and kept my interest. Not one of my favorites of hers, but still a good read. I liked Sleeping Arrangements better - of course, the Shopaholic books are tough to beat! I think the books she writes under Wickham are just a little more off the wall. Have you read Wedding Girl? It is good, but a little strange as well....

    Hi Karen,

Sorry - I haven't been on the site in a while :(. I saw the movie Atonement and though, I am like you - I always read the books first and usually like them better than the films, the movie was better in this case. Still not one of my favorites, but easier to follow along.

As for Handle With Care - I didn't think she needed to end it the way she did. It was so terrible! The mother ruins her marriage and her friendship with her best friends, wins the money and then loses her daughter - the reason for it all. I suppose there is a lesson to be learned there.... It was just too sad for me. What about you?

Hello! Yes, this is a puppy picture - taken at about 4 months. Heidi is now almost 2 and is 110 lbs. We LOVE her! I highly recommend the breed though they are sensitive and require attention, thorough care, but most of all, crave lots of love! She is gorgeous inside and out!

Lucky is VERY sad and "heavy". I like reading books that are that real though and definitely feel like it will help you relate...although the situations are never the same.
Trading UP on the other hand is about a completely wild and crazy girl and was fun to read, but i wouldn't put it on the top of your list =)
I just started a book club and am waiting for the first book choice. I need to get all the girls on here soon. I was going to read Julie and Julia next but need to hold off now that the book club is starting. I'm not one to read 2 books at the same time!
