    Hello Dee R:

Hope this finds you well and in great spirits.

It is with great delight that I noticed that you are my first follower here on Shelfari. Appreciate that.

In a shameless plug, I hereby invite you, an avid reader, to add my recently-completed memoir, "Path to Freedom: My Story of Perseverance," to your reading list. It is available at Amazon.com Kindle Store, Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble Nook Book Store, and Sony Reader Store for between $3.99 and $4.99. I hope that you will give it a read and comment.

    Have a wonderful day,
    Conrad

    Hi, Dee R!
I've been slacking on my book reading (and Shelfari). The holidays do that to me. The book I was reading was Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. I didn't like all of it, but I never once wanted to chuck it for another book. At one point, I just wanted to conquer the thing. Reading it was like being a fly on the wall of that family's life.

How's your 50 book challenge going? That can probably be difficult when you read for work and for pleasure. Last year my goal was to average a book per week, and I made it. This year, I'm going for a 6 book/month average. I'm three books away, so I need to read fast! Happy Holidays.

Hi Dee, just wanted to say thanks and I hope you enjoyed doing the "BOO"K exchange. Sorry I missed it. I blew right past the email (and have lately been inching my way through a very thick book). Anyway, thanks again!

The History Non-Fiction Group is set to read The Linguist and the Emperor: Napoleon and Champollion's Quest to Decipher the Rosetta Stone by Daniel Meyerson for the Jul-Sep quarter. This book discusses the two men whose lives intersected over a love of all things Egypt and led to Campollion solving the mystery of the language on the Rosetta Stone. The book is fairly short - only 271 pages including the Author's Note at the end - and easy to read so it's a good book for the first ever quarterly read. Please join us if you're interested.

    Hi Dee!
I am enjoying my books, thanks. I finished A Treasury of Great American Scandals and reviewed it. I do recommend it, it's full of funny history trivia but it doesn't reveal anything about major historical figures that I hadn't already read about.
After reading some of your reviews, I'm revising my library list- I am A Genius of Unspeakable Evil sounds funny- I love Stewie Griffin. I wish he had his own show. Also, I plan to read End the Fed, because I like economics- now I know what to expect...
