As a seasoned reader, sometimes after a string of dense, meaningful, and sometimes drudging books, you need one that zaps you awake and immerses you entirely in it's story.
    This is that book, friends.
The writing style and descriptions are simplistic, but the story is so enrapturing that I just don't care. By far one of the more exciting reads I've had lately.

This novel is the most perfectly rounded fantasy book I've ever read. There's ample suspense, mystery, and intrigue strung throughout the length of the novel to make every inch of this book a satisfying read. Highly recommended.

Geeze. Talk about stockholm syndrome. I'm pretty sure that after reading this, I hate every single character in this novel. There ultimately is no protagonist. The main character is a complete shell of a human being (no, I'm not saying that he's a stereotypical caveman-male. He has virtually no distinguishing features attributed to his character). The book is more or less about a guy, who in all seriousness, wants a girl who's shit doesn't stink. Not to mention, despite how frequent and graphic the talk of sex may be, it gets so monotonously repetitive that I just do not care in the slightest whenever it's mentioned. Ultimately, a thin and boring read.

Thomas Pynchon is far too brilliant for me to enjoy him. I also hate him for how mind-blowingly much detail he spends catering to literary theorists. The novel was fascinating, but irritating simultaneously.
